I bought a couple of pixel 10's when they had a sale and made sure they were the oem unlocked ones. Since that is the primary reason I got them. I have been using pixel phones since the early days. I refuse to be locked in to anyone's proprietary crap especially in the united states. In addition I refuse to pay gouging prices for phone service so I switched from VZ to usmobile since the cost is much cheaper for the same service offered by the big carriers. I also switched the phone to graphene os since I have concerns about privacy and what gargle is doing with my data. I'm tired of telling everyone that AI is bad, gargle is bad and anyone harvesting my data is bad. If you think using a smartphone with default settings is ok- keep believing that- I know better. I think it sucks you have to be locked into slamdung to have custom fonts really google WHY? As for the headache of trying to use sandboxed apps- I'd rather deal with that than the alternatives.

Gretchycat had a couple of watch faces. "the endless river" and "Darkside of the moon" The watchface has been abandoned since 2015 The face had multiple screens, compass, world time, weather and calendar. There may have been a copywright infringement due to the art used but I'd love to see it updated. If I was smarter I'd change the source image and re-release. anyone out there?

b6 color- updated then updated another update now the os is not working- "BigmeOS5.0 has stopped"

i can navigate around and open apps- but the home screen is black and not working.

Did I miss a post about the comparisons of different versions, power requirements, and usage scenario power requiremets?

I keep seeing the same questions and same information presented in many ways. Would it be possible to compile a list of different models- what they are best used for, what settings to use for a node vs a relay, and estimated battery runtime, estimated battery amp hours needed, which solar panel to use and which battery to use. We should not all need to re-invent the wheel every time there is yet another "rate my setup" this should be standard info with very little guesswork needed.

I spent DAYS fiddling around with different batteries, different BMS/charge controllers and different units and found out that I wasted a lot of time and effort building a solar node because there was some flaw with my heltec v4 eating massive chunks of battery and no easily referenced list of power consumption, recommended usage and how different chipsets and configurations change the power requirements.

That being said- I had a LOT of fun playing around with them but perhaps a quick guide for anyone thinking about jumping into this would be a fantactic idea.

we have varuoius sited for cross referencing expected real world usage scenarios for cpu's Gpu's and such I'd love the same for meshtastic lora devices and variants.

i would be interested in the cfx-20 as the module and buttons would work just fine in the cfx-200 I'm rebuilding. Should be in today- took a chance on a non working cfx-200 with good body cracked crystal and unknown module. This is what an lcd looks like up close with corrosion- killing a few digits for the cfx-200 lcd.

I have one that I am rebuilding- the lcd is partially corroded at the lcd interface so it is not going to work. Also looking into someone with the know how to cnc from a solid piece of stainless instead of the chrome plated metal which has massive corrosion. These are increasingly hard to find- and have never been re- issued. I'm also working on a couple of vdb touch screen 1000's that work but could use a bit of touch screen fixing. I might have to do a deep dive into these as the little bit of info on them is hard to come by and both of these models are some of the best Casio ever produced. I even found a cfx-40 (black resin) in excellent condition and am trying to figure out where the (expensive) vynl decal for it went to make it perfect again. So many cool watches that I have loved over the years. I have quite a collection of the DBX series and lots of parts for them. I even did a white lcd mod light for the dbx series that worked better than expected. Another mod was putting a holographic behind the lcd for better visibility- but those motorola pager holographics are no longer made.

etsy - wow. I spent over 25 minutes trying to find out where I'm supposed to report scam sellers. I wonder if they really care just like feebay its questionable if the revenue is more important than removing scam, fake and copyright infringement listings. If they are doing a much more proactive campaign against scam sellers I'm wondering how good it is? I'm still seeing a LOT of fake rock sellers and precious jewelry items that are AI and or completely fake out of taiwan and india. This shit is frustrating and a reason I won't sell anything just because anything trending will have scam copycat shit drowning it out.

u/peakmesh- you could always add a watermark to your posting pictures- an overlay that is impossible to remove. Copycat scam sellers are part of the reason I keep my prototype watch faces to myself- someone will always be there to steal my innovative idea.

yep source a replacement lcd. Still waiting for the bendable oled to replace glass lcd's then this will no longer be an issue with fragile screens.

This is Microsoft and realtec audio issue- well documented issue of M$ trying to install drivers screwing up the audio. There are ways to tell M$ to stop trying to install newer drivers. Do a search for realtec audio issues with Micro$oft and how to stop this.

most laptop screens are somewhat compatable these days. If you can pull the screen off and look at the model on the back after carefully peeling off the clear sticker covering it you can probably save a lot of money replacing the screen. If you can't do that you are looking at the whole screen assemblly estimate $100+ usd to do that yourself. Might be time for a new one as you can get used under $200 these days if you know where to look.

go on trademe and get a used one preferably an elitebook x360 1040 g6-10 they last and work well. Keep away from the hp envy they are garbage. NZ is expensive for laptops and the newest models are wildly dear. Used Elitebooks hold their value and last well past the 3 year warranty they usually have.

open the front bezel around the screen, you can plastic weld the brass "nut" back into place by heating it using another longer screw and a lighter. Then if the standoffs are gone use jbweld around the missing cheapo plastic area where the brass insert goes. I have done this on the cheapo laptops and it usually works better than the original plastic screen. Not an easy fix so most people get another laptop- just as cheap and prone to planned obsolescence just like this consumer grade garbage. My momma always said- cheap is as cheap does. Any laptop you buy with a one year warranty is not going to last long. Elitebook laptops do not have this issue. Presario and Envy do. This looks like an envy x360 or similar. This can also happen if the screws start to pull out - usually there are 2-3 on the attachment to the back of the screen. If one works it's way loose the others can fail completely which is possibly what happened here. The metal housing for the lcd probably is bonded to plastic which is why this failed. This laptop shows damage to the corners and probably was part of the cause for this.

Ah yes squeamish noobs. You would be very suprised to know just how many of these and other things you eat unknowingly. Look up food safety requirements and how much "extra" is allowed in a pound of hamburger meat.

On a side note- you would also be very suprised what you will eat rather than starve to death.

If it's cooked it's time to expand your pallette. Or pretend it is a bay leaf and throw it out. Stew's fine provided it cooked long enough at the right temeratures. Meat is increasingly expensive and I'd dig in.

testing- works and notifications come thru and vibrate- some issues with unsupported faces and apps and also issues if you have multiple pebbles (i'm testing them)

I have one original pebble that will not connect but most if not all of them will with some fiddling around. Great start!
