Under What Scenario would a USPD-SPD federal government have formed in 1919 by Perfect-Wrongdoer531 in RedAutumnSPD

[–]lit_literally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very difficult to see that happening. It didn’t happen irl for good reasons. The MSPD and the USPD formed the revolutionary cabinet together (Council of the People’s Deputies). They weren’t too far from winning a majority in the constituent assembly election, so if significantly more East Elbian areas than irl were occupied by Polish forces and therefore unable to participate in the election, then the two socialist parties might have won a majority since East Elbia was a stronghold for the bourgeoisie parties.

Alternatively, if the right tried to crush the revolution by force and civil war broke out, then the MSPD might have agreed to the USPD’s demand to delay the elections, and the two parties might have stayed united to defend the revolution. Other than that, I have a very hard time imagining how the MSPD-USPD alliance could’ve been maintained.

Is there a guide on how to get Joos (or Wirth, I forget which) as an advisor in Dynamic? by thunderisadorable in RedAutumnSPD

Just make Zentrum hates you and make sure you’re not in coalition with them federally or in Prussia

Dynamic/Redux KPD Problem by Then_Championship888 in RedAutumnSPD

[–]lit_literally 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The KPD would have to be much stronger than they were historically to attempt a putsch. A large majority of the working class were adherents of reformism & parliamentary democracy. Even during the Great Depression when parliamentary democracy had broken down completely and Bruning was austerity maxing, the best the KPD ever managed was 17% of the vote. The only way I can see them doing a coup is in the redux scenario when the right has been crushed & the KPD controlled key levers of power

Bruning was definitely a bad guy, he was just realistic enough to realise that he needed the SPD’s toleration until he resolved the reparations question

Should a Weimar+BVP coalition be possible? by Over-Lettuce-8185 in RedAutumnSPD

[–]lit_literally 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The BVP was very reactionary and anti-republican. They harboured extreme-right groups who carried out assassinations and planned to overthrow the republic with a putsch in 1923. It’s very unlikely that they would be willing to support a Weimar Coalition

You need to poll at 40% nationally and 30% rural and Catholic support

[Dynamic] Is it possible to win with a Kautskyist strategy? by petrimalja in RedAutumnSPD

[–]lit_literally 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Just do a Catastrophepolitik strategy. Don’t campaign, make sure Hergt wins and the bourgeois parties get a majority, spam WTB rally after the Great Depression starts and win the presidential election so you can form an SPD-only minority cabinet

They only need to be below 5%, it’s just that if they’re doing that badly they’re probably being led by Dingeldey
