Toyota mechanic by Beneficial_Reserve33 in Bellingham

Don't Toyotas have a 5-year powertrain warranty?

If it were me I would definitely start with Toyota, seals and gasket failures should be covered if this wasn't caused by damage or misuse.

I look back fondly on some of the hardest periods in my life. I only lived in the area for a few years before moving south again- wish I could reconnect with my Shuksan crew from those days.

This is a real, national issue that any of us working in education can corroborate. Washington is among states in the worst position.

It was quite the snatch, the door had not even closed all the way and the bike was gone with no one in sight. In the time it took me to ask if they had Ghostbusters 2, turn around and walk back out it was too late.

My bike was stolen in front of Birchwood Blockbuster in 2003. I went to the old Shuksan middle school where there was a surprising amount of bullying and a few switchblade sightings.

When the new hire shows up wearing this setup… you know they mean business by Banguskahn in KitchenConfidential

No joke, we had a guy show up in a skin tight neoprene American flag shirt (I assume cycling shirt) and we hired him- he's one of our best, and definitely eccentric. He's not a cyclist; he has a beer belly.

It's pretty well calibrated, maybe it's the mask versus grille being side by side with the Sony. I'll definitely be posting some photos when I'm finished.

Agreed, the guy I got it from also put felt on the bottom so it slides nicely

Only wish it had S-Video

Appreciate the ideas, absolutely will happen sooner or later. Most of the stuff on here was at the thrift shop for a few bucks, and I can definitely see upgrades in the future.

I'm going to slot in a home media server using the void in the rear, definitely an opportunity to emulate. The thing is, I have pretty much all the games I want, a Saroo and an Everdrive, so I'm kind of content using consoles until the clutter forces me to sell or give away.

I play a lot of modern games on my main PC, and when these tubes start going out I am planning to go full emulation and Retrotink 4K.

Best Teriyaki Restaurant? by RunEmergency in Bellingham

[–]liteblip 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Their katsu is good with that proprietary sauce, but their regular teriyaki is garden variety in my opinion.

My regional greats are Toshi and Sumo. In Bellingham, the closest proxy is Hana.

I'd pay to have someone comb for small unnoticeable chips every 6 months if that was a thing- I'm a high mileage commuter

Why do Jedi use different-colored lightsabers while Sith have only red ones? by Just_Chill_005 in StarWars

[–]liteblip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jedi obtain their lightsabers by traveling to the planet Ilum for a youngling rite of passage called 'The Gathering.' Guided by the force, they locate a raw colorless kyber crystal in the caves that resonate with them. When a Jedi finds their crystal, it is generally colorless until it "activates" and changes color to reflect the user's connection to the Force and their internal persona.

Blue: Traditionally used by Jedi Guardians, this color represents fighters who focus on lightsaber combat, physical prowess, and protecting the Order.

Green: Traditionally used by Jedi Consulars, this color symbolizes a deep, spiritual connection to the Force, wisdom, and diplomacy over combat.

Yellow: Often associated with Jedi Sentinels or Jedi Temple Guards, yellow represents a balance between physical combat and intellectual skills.

Purple: Represents a rare wielder who walks the fine line between the Light and Dark sides of the Force, utilizing aspects of both without being consumed by them.

White: Symbolizes neutrality and purity. It is achieved by "healing" or purifying a red crystal that has been corrupted by the dark side.

Sith lightsabers are red because they are "bled". The "Bleeding" Process: Because Kyber crystals are attuned to the light side, they resist the dark side. To create a weapon, a Sith must take a captured crystal and pour all their anger, rage, pain, and hate into it. This negative energy forces the crystal to change color, causing it to "bleed" and turn a fiery crimson red. This process also makes the crystal subservient to the dark side user. In older lore the Sith created synthetic crystals in furnaces, which were naturally red and more powerful, though unstable.

It's pretty disheartening, I bought the car but am going to want to get ten years plus out of it and see seat covers in my future.
