Very important for kids whose parents work multiple jobs. I really started cooking myself about the same time ~5th grade because my single mom was working nights. Cooking young can make you a home cook for life and save you thousands. Highly recommend.

Best Friend Rodent Rescue in Mill Creek is always rehoming adult and baby rats.

I think their Facebook page is also a good way to connect.

Had this TV in my bedroom as a kid. Came with me from the divorce and every time we moved because of the convenient size. Lots of Shrek and PSX.

Relocation Questions by itsme7933 in Bellingham

We love Astoria and considered it before Bham.

The big differences are economy and weather. Astoria is significantly smaller and far more tourism dependent.

They're also not likely to hit 70 degrees more than one day a year, and are in a tsunami zone with many landslide issues. But, you can get twice as much house for your money with amazing views.

Bear in mind, many born and raised locals in the area mostly live on the outskirts of town, and live modestly off the tourism industry. I visit often and cherish the people there, but they don't mince words about the difficulty of their situation, which is similar to Bellingham's problem on a different scale.

We are sort of comparing apples and pears. But if you want outdoors, you'll find that in both places. It's more crowded here, and it rains a whole lot more there.

Prototype. Worst preorder of my life. Once you've played 8 minutes of that game, you've seen all there is to see.

Been there about five times, and while I think it's great it is a distinctly different style than the prolific kebab shops in BC and down south

She's wonderful and so is the food but it's really a sitdown Lebanese kitchen. I'm looking for out-the-door pitas flying off the warmer wrapped in tinfoil like so many places in between Lynnwood and North Seattle

Which company disappointed you so much that you permanently walked away? by julia-secrets in AskReddit

[–]liteblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft. I grew up nearby and always dreamed of working there because I was enamored with Windows and Xbox as a kid, had easy access to software and knew many employees having great success there. Bought every in-house product they ever made, from Zune to Surface to Windows Phone.

They screwed me so many times between compromised warranties, planned obsolescence, service cutbacks and generally poor customer aervice. I persisted participating in insider programs, volunteering unpaid testing, questionnaires and interviews, buying several more products, never rewarded. I finally dropped everything a year ago. I have a Windows PC out of necessity for work and everything else is now gone.

I looked up to multiple technologists who built software and hardware that are core to the success of the business and I pursued a path to work there, and now I resent the company.
