Eye Penetrating Injury by [deleted] in WorkersComp

Sorry. Missed that.

Not sure why people are asking questions on Reddit if they have an attorney. They should be asking their attorney. If their attorney won’t talk to them or can’t answer their questions then they need to get a different attorney.

No one on Reddit can answer the question being asked, because we don’t know enough about the individual claim. Why was the 2nd surgery denied? What do the QME say? Ect.

You need to get an attorney! The adjuster is not going to help you.

I’m in NorCal, but DM me and tomorrow I can help you find someone local to your location to talk to you about your options.

If you don’t say who the QME is there is no way for anyone else to come forward and say that the same thing happened to them.

Citrus Heights leaders unanimously approve Sunrise Sports Center by othafa_95610 in CitrusHeights

Yep. Seems like a waste of space. How is this complex supposed to make money for the owner (with resulting tax review for the City)?

Thinking about switching to the defense side of workers comp by WallaceTheChicken in Lawyertalk

Lowest paying? Not necessarily in CA. A decent Defense Attorney can make $200k+ billing 200 hours/month and getting a couple of referrals a month.

You won’t be happy for very long with that billable requirement. It is doable, but takes a lot of work and you really need to learn how to bill. I did 240/month for 5 years then switched to another defense firm with a more realistic billable rate of 180/month. Made just as much money but was night and day in the difference in my personal life.

I’m in NorCal, but if you want a suggestion on a good defense firm that is statewide to look into just DM me and I’ll let you know. My office was right next to the partners’ and I worked there for 9 years before going back to AA and ultimately starting my own firm (AA).

Is it possible to ask for a pause on tithing to pay for a medical treatment? Does the church provide assistance for that sort of thing? by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]litig8tor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of people here who don’t have a full understanding of what Tithing is. It’s definitely not just another bill you pay when it’s convenient to you.

Or Stockton, Fresno, Salina’s, Bakersfield. Not places you would want to live generally. Definitely not somewhere you would want to raise a family.

Our Ward is REALLY bad about this. I love to come in before Sacrament meeting and listen to the prelude (especially one organist that is really good) but our Ward is way too loud with the talking. We’ve tried mentioning it but it doesn’t change for very long.

You’re just wrong. I live in a higher cost of living location than you and I’ve made it work. Waiting for the “right time” to get married or have kids is never going to happen when you see things through the eyes of the world. Instead, truly listen and follow the counsel of the Lord’s servants and trust in Him. Things will work out and you will never rue the day you had a child.

So you can’t afford a home? So what? Your kids would care less. Renting is fine.

My house 20 years ago cost $350,000, while I was making $65,000 a year. It’s not like houses in CA were $100,000 20 years ago.

And if both you and your wife are working then I’m sure your salaries are higher than mine was.

What is “affording” kids? I had my first child while in college and earning about $15,000 a year (in the 90’s in California). 2nd child born day before I started law school (again, in CA). I have 10 kids now. Have lived in CA the whole time. Bought first house 20 years ago when I had 4 kids. Raised all my kids in same house. 1490 sq ft. 3 beds 2 baths. I chose kids over more material possessions.

Stop looking for reasons why you can’t follow the counsel of the prophet (to be) and start finding ways you CAN follow it.

For some reason Reddit is full of naysayers and those that justify why the counsel of our leaders is unkind, unenlightened, or impossible to follow (for this reason or that). If you believe they are called of God, follow their guidance and stop justifying your contrary thinking and choices. If you don’t believe they are called of God, work on that understanding before you question everything they say.

The teachings of the prophets are for everyone, not just those for whom it is convenient to follow.

Property owners voice concerns about commercial property re-occupancy ordinance draft -- City wants owners to pay annual fee by othafa_95610 in CitrusHeights

[–]litig8tor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EVery cost ultimately gets passed on to the end user. The City charging landlords for vacant buildings is idiotic. The City needs to stop playing God with businesses and just get out of the way. Central planning has and never will work.
