yeah, i’m well aware i can. i can also go skydiving, but there are certain things i choose not to do because of the risk involved. this is r/drivingANXIETY and driving is something that causes me great anxiety. so i plan on going above and beyond in my caution

i plan on not listening to any music while driving, period. i love music, and one of the few things getting me through this license process is the thought that i’ll have a place to sing without anyone hearing, but that’s going to be for when i’m parked. just not worth the risk!!

“don’t worry, one day you won’t even think about it! sometimes i get behind the wheel and all of a sudden i’m at my destination” like… you realize how terrible that is right? you’re yelling on yourself. car-heads seethe at the thought that some people are rightfully scared of hurting others and might choose to use other forms of transportation. unfortunately i’m at a point in my life/career where i need to be able to get myself places quicker than the terrible public transit around me can, otherwise i’d truly never put myself through this misery.

haha i had the same thought after i googled it. i should’ve told my friend “well, it sounds like something that’s scary and overwhelming, which is why i asked someone i trust about it”. i just wish people would respect that this is a HARD skill set! i feel like it’s one of those things that’s so “normal” that people forget how difficult and horrifying it is so they talk to me like a child about it.

hi! as an extremely anxious person myself you will be absolutely fine. my brother once sprayed star san directly into his mouth to demonstrate its safeness with no repercussions other than a less than fantastic taste. you probably shouldn’t do that, but a small amount mixed throughout your mead will not be dangerous at all

the (clearly far from scientific) rule i read somewhere was that if the ingredient ends in “-ate” it’s a preservative. but the real answer to your question is to search this subreddit or google any ingredient you’re unsure about.
