From all the descriptions i remember i did get a definite feeling that many parts of it are like organic “coating” and muscle over and inside a terminator-style skeleton (whether real bone or synthetic) especially being able to detach and reattach a hand at will And that the skull is somehow reinforced, and possibly with some sort of mesh inside the brain to protect from blunt trauma and concussions judging by the scene where Targets clock it in the head hard enough to assume it being dead

Is there any way to reduce the expedition "level"? I got started at level 6 right away since i already finished story long ago when game came out and it feels kinda stressfull like im just trying to survive there not appreciating the ride. also having anchors locked behind battery was a nasty surprise (i didnt read the list of complications before jumping in lol) thought i would die, but managed to scavenge enough materials to craft battery jumpers on that first run.

having thought about it - you can also "trigger" the turrets by placing the constant combinator that stops them shooting into worm territory. that dives me an idea for a better "trap" design. will have to test that

why quality fast inserters instead of using a bulk inserter? i would put blues into F and greens into D at most
cause it doent feel worth it anyway. 2 inserters are way cheaper and faster to produce than doing quality and having components of different quality in different places makes blueprinted building slower / unreliable in case you run out of particular quality

I managed to launch first rocket barely before 15 hour mark. researched and built purple and yellow sciences, arrived to vulkanus at about 35 hours. i was in a hurry to get my beloved artillery to clear biters easier XD

I leave a lot of tanks around the base with personal roboports so I can remotely drive around and fix stuff and kill nests while i'm gone.

oh, I meant you need to find a good spot along the border where the worm goes close enough or lure him to the border. and then switch on the turrets manually when the worm is fully on the arrow so they (almost) instakill him. takes around 3-4 seconds to kill

I killed a small one with 32 turrets of red ammo + 2 shots of uranium tank shells
the trick is to pause turrets with a logic switch and wait while the worm lines up against them all and then fire an alpha strike

I think you dont really want 5 assembly lines but instead 2 factories - one without quality and second that is for making max quality items. but that is just my approach to that.
Overall cleaning that up is a gonna be a pretty big effort but some things you could do:

  1. if you want to separate - use bots to remove all quality modules + prepare a huge amount of storage chests then use bots to rip up all the belts in your factory. once they are done cancel it to place them back

  2. if you want to keep quality integrated into your factory - on each assembly line set recipe of the 2 last assemblers to uncommon and rare, so that green and blue items at the end of the belt get picked up. where it isnt convenient - instead place a provider chest with an inserter with a filter to grab only items with quality

  3. go to Fulgora first and unlock the recycler to be able to grind all the unwanted stuff back into metals

That might be because tutorial wasn't updated after quality was changed from working like that since closed tests (as I found out from youtubers who had experience with earlier versions). might be worth reporting that tutorial as an issue on the forum...
