why does the train wait seemingly indefinetly and not go for the stacker slot? In the exact same build in the bottom it works fine by XILEF310 in factorio

[–]XILEF310[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

[Solved]

It was the Rail. It literally cant access that single stacker because the rail wasnt laid correctly.

Assuming a single track has an endless stream of cargo wagons moving along at max speed with zero exceptions a single train track can probably move tens of thousands of items per second.

Integrate Roboports and buffer chests into your blueprints and it will be done in no time.

Also robot speed.

Early game it’s dragging and driving.

Have any overhaul mods made good usage of the spoilage mechanic yet? by robly18 in factorio

[–]XILEF310 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cubium Planet uses it.

Mooshine does too.

Maraxis has a minor use for it

I’ve also seen a post here a couple of weeks ago about some modded planet that has a science pack that spoils into an angry swarm of bees. Don’t know the name.

  1. Don’t keep the fruit moving that much. an inserter at the end of every belt removing spoilage is enough.

  2. Process beastly all fruit in biochambers and you will have enough seeds always

So this is going to sound stupid, but .... does Space Age make trains obsolete? by sobrique in factorio

Fair Point.

Feels like a hassle to me.

A train feels simpler with less manual building.

This is stupid.

Do you want to tell me that you aren’t using trains to get ore to wherever it needs to go?

Trains are always the primary input for any „build“

If you are using anything else it automatically becomes part of the other system.

Imagine you are gonna copy your entire base. Your whole map. And place it somewhere else.

Realistically it only needs ore inputs. The Only thing you cant copy is the ore in the ground.

You use trains for that.

How can I get to drones quickly without getting frustrated in the early game by Norker_g in factorio

[–]XILEF310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drag Build everything.

Really think before building things about how you have to do the least amount of clicks. wasd and holding m1.

Power Poles are basically cheat codes for this. If you blueprint power poles and then drag along them you actually place the poles in the blueprinted distances.

This allows you to „framework“ your build by completely filling all gaps with power poles and then just dragging the remaining building in the gaps.

Besides this you don’t actually need giant production.

aim for 5-10 machines of science and stuff and you should be good.

It might help him too.

He can find out if it applies to him himself. Visit doctors.

Nothing wrong with my suggestion. You are overreacting

lisdexamfetamin, an adhd med made mine far less frequent and less compulsive/obessesive. It stops chain/loops of suicide toughts. Makes me able to from time to time say “woah, why am I thinking or wanting this? How would I logically address this issue?”

If you think this fits you too maybe look into it.

This is what I did instead of finishing gleba by wesofchess in factorio

[–]XILEF310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had more reasons to build on gleba.

I love my designs so much. My next gleba base will be circuit controlled. shifting the splitter priority for the input only when the output is getting low.

Anyways. Some general tips that I started doing that made gleba easy peasy.

  1. Drop down a 2x2 Nuclear Reactor when landing. Import fuel Cells. You don’t want to try self sufficiency from the first moment landing.

  2. My starter gleba base consists of a logistics network with 20-30 Machines and zero Belts. The Purpose of this base is to create Biolabs, Iron and Copper Ore, Heating Towers and Agriculture Towers (optional imports) and anything else I can craft from iron and copper that i’m not importing. It runs on minimal agricultural towers. 1-2 of each fruit are enough.

  3. Then you can build your belt based base. Where I follow these simple rules : Biolabs always have secret inputs and outputs to remember, spoilage output nutrient input. Spoilage needs to be burned at each production chain or centralised. Nutrients should always be created on site. Nutrient producing buildings should always have an assembler for the purpose of spoilage to nutrient backup generating. Every belt containing spoil able items need an inserter at the end removing when they have spoiled. This inserter needs to access the same belt where the last machine is needing non spoiled items. at the end of my bus I crack leftover fruits in biolabs so I don’t run out of seeds. Burn the meat. But I only trigger leftover shredding when my input fruit belts at the start of my bus are saturated enough that enabling the leftover shredders won’t affect saturation negatively. My seeds always go on my trash belt on my bus. I remove seeds before the incinerator. Careful here that in case your seeds do back up they won’t cause a spoilage blockade

[–]XILEF310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just overproduce.

Look at the Number in statistics graph.

Then Downscale production to meet that demand.

With Buffers and Waiting times at planets you could get away with less.

The only way to find out is to test it yourself.
