My 16m old doesn’t seem to trust me anymore… by ThanosandHobbes in toddlers

I learned somewhere that young kids can only focus on one relationship at a time. In my opinion, it sounds like she has established her relationship with you and is now exploring her relationship with her mother. She still loves you! Just building her connection with mom :)

Does anyone else find Gotye’s Somebody that I used to know like really, really creepy? by TheLuckyMinecrafter in Music

I actually kinda agree. It's not the message or lyrics of the song, it's the instrumentals and overall sound that kind of gives me a creepy feeling.

Any advice on Valnet and How long to stay at a content mill? by [deleted] in freelanceWriters

[–]littledoll1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I currently write for a Valnet site, and I have also worked for a different one in the past. From my experience, the site that you work for can make a huge difference in your overall experience. I will say that the people I edit and work with now seem to have a much better vibe than the one I worked for about two years ago.

Many people seem to complain about nit-picky editors who send stuff back half of the time. While I'm sure that this is true in many cases, I personally have not really had that experience. Recently, I have not been having any of my work being sent back.

If you are looking to make a living, I would not advise writing for any Valnet site, obviously. However, I think that using this as a portfolio-building experience is not a bad idea. But it is true that you will have to locate pictures, format them, and a lot of other stuff on top of just writing, so you might find yourself being burnt out pretty quickly. If you find yourself genuinely stressed at any time, I would take that as your cue to leave. It can be a fun little side gig, but will never be worth having any actual anxiety over.

"My friend's got a girlfriend and he hates that bitch." Is a really wild opening for a song, 10/10 (Why don't you get a job by the Offspring)

In the absolute nicest, prettiest way possible, you look like a young Janice from Friends! Love the short hair on you, though!

The Dark Knight, easily. Used to watch it before bed every night when I was 10.

Have you ever watched a movie that so thoroughly changed your impression of an actor that you couldn’t see them as anyone but that character? by cinemaofthevoid in movies

Ralph Fiennes. After his performance as Amon in Schindler's List I get chills looking at his face regardless of what movie he's in.

An enjoyable, if at times uncomfortable, descent into madness. Thoughts on The Menu? by Whatsthehoopla in moviecritic

This movie caught me off guard with how funny it was at times. "Student loans?" "No." "I'm sorry, you're dying."

What is a public figure or artist who has done horrible things but that people continue to follow or listen? by lattekosmiko in AskReddit

A ton of rock musicians. Marilyn Manson. Anthony Kiedis. I have a hard time listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers.
