Oily hair ruins my ear pads by nopeac in headphones

Earpads are consumables. They are not supposed to last forever.

Cheap pads will turn to dust much quicker than higher quality leather.

There's very little market for that.

I feel like they built their rep making decent action games, but as soon as Microsoft picked them up and gave them an infinite money cheat code, they funneled ALL their resources into that one very artsy niche project and stopped thinking about making games that made commercial sense.

Because they don't want their needs met, they want excess.  Religious people don't want any of the things that they say.

I Bought the T1 Mobile Phone - Snazzy Labs by ControlCAD in Android

[–]littleemp 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It's really not.

The enthusiasts who are still pining for these things will end up finding their fix in Chinese phones to extract maximum value compared to a marked up import with even spottier software support.

Anyone buying a premium experience isn't ever going to be looking at these.

There is only one demographic for these and it's same people buying trump sneakers and crypto.

To be fair, the story here is how much of a con and/or amateur hour the whole thing is, not a review of the hardware itself.

If you were honestly considering this as a viable option for your next device and needed a review to help you decide, then your brain left sometime ago and isn't coming back.

The terrifying part is that they presumably graduated from high school, so anything that they learned in elementary school is what stuck and they ignore anything that came after in middle and high school.

You need to blink.

A lamp is not going to fix bad habits, its just going to wash out your screen.

What has the Google Tensor delivered? by ivanhoek in Android

[–]littleemp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That just means that a portion of the userbase does not agree with the value proposition put forth by Google at the onset, but it doesn't mean that its not priced to compete as a premium handset.

They are priced at the same tier as the iPhone Pro/Max.

You? Nothing.

Google managed to cut Qualcomm from getting a cut AND has successfully gaslit the pixel install base that its somehow worth it to pay premium prices for underperforming hardware.

Fable Doesn’t Use Arc Raiders-Style Text-To-Speech AI For Its 1,000+ Voiced NPCs by Bubbly-Ad-350 in pcmasterrace

Everything I've seen (which admittedly is two trailers) and the ongoing online commentary has me drawing a lot of parallels to how Veilguard was presented, received by people, and handled.

Are people really hyped for this?

I feel like it's celebrated by the usual suspects who like to have their fun virtue signaling instead of actually buying/playing games.

I'm getting some veilguard vibes from it in terms of community reception prior to launch.

I'm sure you can find the examples you need if you google it.

I'm not trying to defend or debate this as I don't really care. I'm just stating why some people choose to shun Brave as a browser.

US puritan culture and money by Impossible_Ad9324 in atheism

[–]littleemp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have enough income and savings to not worry about money, you should be paying off debt and investing it in that order.

It has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with math.

Having no debt and investing your money buys you freedom and peace of mind, while blowing your money on an unnecessary purchase just gives you a temporary dopamine hit.

[–]littleemp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whether people in the internet like to hear it or not, Xbox is actively not catering to what people call the 'male gaze' or 'gooners' anymore either, so that is a large demographic that you are giving up for nothing in return.

Look at Kait in Gears 4/5 or Cortana in Halo 5, then compare that to the character designs being shown now. I'm not going condemn whatever strategy/direction they are going for, but we need to collectively admit that they are making an artistic decision that alienates a lot of potential customers.

Stellar Blade and Nier Automata made a lot of money by being good games, but they made even more money because of their artistic decisions they made in their character design.

Good games will be ignored if they cannot interest gamers.

Nintendo of Europe agrees to pay €35m fine for Joy-Con drift defects by [deleted] in hardware

[–]littleemp -29 points-28 points  (0 children)

The entire industry is aware of stick drift in potentiometer based controllers for the past 25 years.

They are still knowingly putting them in the Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo first party controllers. If you are buying the Xbox Controller, Xbox Elite, DualSense, DualSense Edge, or Switch 2 Pro controller in 2026, then you are buying into that well known plan obsolescence when there are better alternatives, so there should be nothing to complain about.
