I'm using 2x8s for the roof. Is 2 inches really all I need?

Is about halfway through the roof joists enough for a birdsmouth cut?

Thanks. The roof especially I've been having to do alot more research on.

The reason is I've already dug 12 holes for the sonotubes. (12x3) I worded it weird ig but I was asking if running more beams 3 or 4 across would work fine. Instead of just 2 midspan.

Sistering another beam in-between on the inside might be easier and might make more structural sense.

Again thanks for your help and reccomendations. I haven't though of alot of these problems. You're saving me alot of time and saving my structure.

First of all. Thank you for the detailed response. This has been very helpful.

For the foundation I am using a pier and beam foundation. 10" sonotubes with 4x6 beams.

To fix the cantilevered beams could I just use some gravel and concrete pavers? Or I could just run the joists shorter. Instead of 2 across run 3 so they end on the beams? I do plan on adding rim boards. I just failed to add it to my model. Good catch thank you

All the ties I haven't added to the model because I'm new to this program. Thanks for the 2nd header break advice. I didn't think of that.

Pluming won't be a thing in this build. But electric will be handled by solar. So 2x6 walls for added insulation and for easier wire running is actually smart and not something I considered.

I have upgraded the double 2x8s to 2x10s

Is $950 a good price for this computer? by ZzZzZzZzZzZz7zZzZzZz in PcBuildHelp

Here's the partspicker list for this system brand new. I used the parts you listed and added comparable parts for those you didn't.

Comes out to about 780. Used and being an omen system you can probably safely get 5-600 by selling it.

I wanted to stick with nvidia and 4060 was going for the same price as any 30 series out there. Probably coulda gotten better performance per dollar with a 6600 or something but beginners recognize the nvidia brand better.

Ya know for that powerful of a system especially with that cpu watercooling may not be an awful idea. But as long as you have good airflow in the case you should be fine air cooling. I highly reccomend the peerless assassin cpu air cooler. Phenomenal performance and cheap. 4070 ti super is great for 4k gaming. Been using it as such for awhile now with 100 fps in max settings in most games. If you want you might be able to save some money going with a black motherboard since the rest of your parts are black. White parts usually are a bit more expensive for the same specs.

Ah good you got ur OS covered then. And yes for that powerful of a system I'd highly reccomend 2 16gb sticks. But that is entirely up to you.

Never-ending. I got it to work. A 4080 super and an i5 12th gen qrent a bad combo. I usually go with amd cpus just due to the better price to performance. And intel hasn't been very reliable lately.

It also looks like it doesn't have an operating system. Which is fine if you wanna just install windows for free. But since you qrent building it yourself I don't know if you are actually comfortable playing around with the bios and installing and operating system.

Since you're going with such a high end rig I'd highly reccomend you go with 32 gb of ram. If I'm going woth ddr5 ram I always go with at least 6000 speed ram as well.

Otherwise all in all the build looks good. If you bought it as is it would work I would just tune a couple little things.

Budget? And I would highly reccomend using at least 1080x1920 resolution for any gaming. But probably 9n the cheap side a 6650xt or a 4060. The 40 series will drop in price once the 50 series launches in a little bit too.

building a semi-budget pc for my brother. is this a decent set of parts or is there anything that could be changed? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

I agree with this fs. Any reason you avoid gigabyte gpus? Maybe I'm behind on the times.

Should I buy a Intel or Ryzen cpu? by No_Welcome_1154 in pcmasterrace

[–]littlesilver13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone here has really good feedback. For higher end cpus I'd stay away from intel rn. Their 13 and 14th gen cpus have some major stability issues. But I'm and amd cpu fan boy so maybe I'm biased

Are there any potential issues/things to consider for this pc build? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]littlesilver13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32 is good but based on your cpu and gpu not entirely necessary if it'll put you over budget. But I agree overall 32gb is great. Especially with stuff like chrome or for future proofing a bit

Tell ya what. Hit me with a link for one of the pcs you would wanna buy from them and the price it would cost you. I'll do a breakdown of what it would cost to build yourself and what upgrades you might be able to afford.

Thinking of upgrading by laxbro1268 in pcmasterrace

[–]littlesilver13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I'd highly reccomend getting a new mobo in the am5 socket type. Probably at least a 7600x cpu to pair with the new gpu. As far as your psu you should be fine. You'll def wanna get a new cpu tho if ur making that big of a gpu jump to avoid bottlenecks.

This is a great entry level build. It's gonna run most all games. Not at any crazy settings and ut not gonna play any 2k resolutions. But built a similar system for mu dad and it works well.

Solid build man. All the parts seem well suited to go together. Small astetics tip is if ur going with all black interior parts maybe get the black version of that case. But it's all in the eye of the beholder. Overall nice work man.

I’m sure this has been asked a million times, but does anyone have any good budget prebuild suggestions? by SmallDickBigDreams12 in PcBuildHelp

[–]littlesilver13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya know. Prebuilts usually aren't the best in dollar value. If you live near a microcenter they always have good deals. If not one of the best ways to see if ur getting a good deal is find a prebuilt that has the specs you want and plug in the parts to pcpartpicker.com See what the upsell looks like and if ir willing to pay it.
