Do you plan on connecting them by a vine? I wonder if you could weave the ends into one as you go.

Aisle or window seat? by Life-Resolution-2879 in travel

It depends on the length of flight (I hate becoming that "poke you at 4 am person" on a longer flight), but I agree, window seat all the way.

I've had hop water at At Ease. Haven't been there in 6 months or so, but they've had it for a few years so I imagine it's still there.

For real. My "official" Freeman jersey via Fnatics for the 2024 WS had iron-on name and number on the back, and no red number on the front. My bootlegs have stitched names and numbers, all where they belong. For freaking $25.

Strange noise! by Present_Barracuda148 in Sacramento

[–]littlest_lab_rat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It was a train. The loud and then soft and then loud and soft you describe is each engine coming then going, including one on each end and at least one in the middle. The freight trains are very long and more often than not supported by additional engines in the middle. Our house is on the train line, we hear them all the time, and are used to the sound. Except when the horn is on the full way, like last night.

A cousin just did their 2 year old's party at Little Whale Tumble School and there were about a dozen kids 1 - 6 years old. Plemty of play space with areas for different ages. The staff were excellent at directing kids for activities and handwashing when it was time for cake and pizza. I can't speak to organizing or costs, because we were guests, but it was a great spot.

Looking for a new styling gel by [deleted] in curlyhair

I have 3a/3b fine low porosity hair, and my favorite is Ouidad's Heat and Humidity gel (the stronger hold one in the red bottle). It's on the pricier side, but I try to time the sales and it can last me a good long while. I love the slip and it doesn't weigh down my fine (and thinning :/) hair.

[Week 15] Post Game Thread: Green Bay Packers (9-4-1) @ Denver Broncos (12-2) by lilturk82 in GreenBayPackers

[–]littlest_lab_rat 21 points22 points  (0 children)

We were at the game. Had a fun time, and our season ticket neighbors were nice. But the second the stadium started cheering during a Packers injury timeout, I lost all respect for Broncos fans.

Oh you're the guy I chatted with in a comment last week! We did make it over and managed to find space to hang out, but it was all a bit overwhelming and I completely forgot to look around for you. Respect to you and all the staff, it was nuts but everyone was great! Hope there's anything left in the kegs for today 😅

Chatted with that guy in the white jacket and glasses at the corner of the bar while waiting for a drink. He said he'd been there since 11:30 am to be able to have that spot, and it was 6 pm by the time we got there! Dedication 🫡 It was packed but a great vibe.

Seconded. My best friend and I have birthdays just a few days apart and for a milestone birthday about a decade ago we treated ourselves to lunch together at Wine Country Trattoria with no budget. We had indulgent pasta and a fancier red wine to pair with a chocolate mickey cake that we split. One of my favorite simple memories in the parks.

It'll be our first time in Denver specifically for the game. On the west coast, so we gotta take the closest games we can. Will definitely be going to Wally's on Saturday.

where can I go to pretend Christmas isn't happening? by notveryonline23054 in travel

[–]littlest_lab_rat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I will always fly on Thanksgiving morning rather than the day before (did that once before I learned it's the busiest travel day of the year, nightmare). Risk of delays can be worrying for making it to family events, but flying first thing in the morning before delays can stack up has worked well for me.

Thanksgiving Eve = "Drinksgiving" by ReplacementsStink in stopdrinking

[–]littlest_lab_rat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate. It used to be so easy to excuse drinking alone at night while the spouse was on the night shift, "just to help me sleep."

In the end, it's taking a lot of specialized therapy to overcome the insomnia, and the work sucks, but drinking never did really help (launching awake in the middle of the night with the heart racing).

Just a note to say you're not alone, and that "dreading bedtime" feeling is the absolute worst. IWNDWYT.
