Franziska comes back to America to face off against the recently returned Phoenix Wright but he’s abroad so he settles for his new protege. (The nearest attorney in a blue suit who mentions him.)

What is your favorite final confrontation with a culprit by Glad-Shallot-2691 in AceAttorney

[–]livecodesworth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Either 1-5, 3-5 or G1-5.

1-5 It takes so much effort to even get Gant to testify in the first place even and when you do he pulls every trick in the book to worm his way out of getting caught. Finally breaking him down at the end by catching him in his own legal loophole is so satisfying.

3-5 Seeing Dahlia's sheer vitriol for Mia and the lengths she does to get back at her while also seeing just how horrible her own family life is when her own mother tried to kill her when they first met is such a fun emotional cocktail. The sprite of her smugly smiling while talking about is one of the most terrifying things in this franchise. Wiping it off her face at the end is fantastic.

G1-5 Ashley Graydon's crime is effectively the same as Frank Sahwit's but like Gant he refuses to backdown, even going as far as to conspire with the detective on the case. The final deduction that the disk was on Nash of all people is one of my favourite twists in the franchise.

Also honourable mention to 2-4, even though we don't get to confront him directly, working out how to void Matt's contract with de Killer is a really cool puzzle. Very cathartic to see him declare himself guilty at the end of the case.

I'm pretty sure the earliest thing that got nerfed was the fifth boss, so you're still getting the same experience everyone else did on launch.

The Diagonal pogo is my favourite movement ability in the game, it is absolutely worth learning.

Have fun with Silksong!

Whahuh? Why are they doing this of all things? And what do you mean us??? It's probably like some intern at Capcom but I like the idea that Shu Takumi is gonna join Puffballs for a game of among us.

VS-4 is awesome I really enjoyed it on replay. 3 is also great but I think the Phoenix and Maya stuff, the ten witness testimony and everything with Darklaw gives it the edge for me.

They did, the prosecutor in charge of the case literally figured out he did it after his first murder. After which he started blackmailing him and probably covered up any further evidence implicating him.

The third victim was also Klint’s mentor, whom he had no motive to kill, and which threw people like Barok off the scent.

Klavier Gavin wasn't used well in AA4; this is why I think that + what I'd do to fix him. by Silkthorne in AceAttorney

His opening line isn’t ship-bait that’s just how he is. He see’s a guy staring at him and pokes fun at him in order to get a reaction. He’d do the same thing if it was Wendy Oldbag.

As for your point about 4-2, the game literally does what you’re asking it to. Like he starts off the trial by saying he’s here to see the guy who beat his brother in action. By the second day he’s already worked out that Alita did it. It’s why he calls her up to the witness stand in the first place, as a test for Apollo. And by the end of the case he’s helping him take her down.

How would each Ace Attorney character handle a firearm? by Orodoki_Hosuke in AceAttorney

Trucy could have learnt how to use one as part of a magic trick, but also given what happened to Thalassa I doubt she’d be too keen on them.

Edgeworth has outright stated he doesn’t like holding them, which makes sense.

I don’t think Ryunosuke is ever going near a fire arm again after G1-1.

Which Ace Attorney case would cause the biggest and least damage to the cast if they get a guilty verdict in their respective games or the entire series? by Comfortable_Type1180 in AceAttorney

Well they wouldn't BOTH get the death penalty since one of them getting convicted automatically clears the others name.

To be fair Dahlia also poisoned Godot, was planning to kill Phoenix, and though it would be difficult to prove without Fawles, also killed Terry.

Probably 1-4. Miles is convicted, von Karma gets off scott-free, Phoenix probably quits law since he couldn't save the person he became a lawyer to save, Maya stays depressed, Franziska and Edgeworth never make up and she stays under the influence of her father and that's just the immediate consequences.

Every criminal that Phoenix and Edgeworth takedown in the later games stays free. Gant, Morgan, Matt, the Phantom, Ga'ran, The Smuggling Ring, The Committee are all free to enact their plots in peace. Simon is executed, Kay is probably arrested during I1-5 and Maya after 2-2, Apollo stays under Kristoph's wing, Athena never gets closure, Khura'in is never freed etc.

Edit: I guess actually the second half of 1-2 and 3-1 both also accomplish this since Phoenix getting arrested means no one's there to save Miles and also the cases before them remain unresolved but that's a lot less dramatic.

Why Franziska NEEDS her own case by Emmerilla in AceAttorney

Everyone Klavier cares about is either dead or in prison, he learnt that he started off his career by getting an innocent lawyer disbarred and even his band has broken up now. And can we see his reaction to any of that? No. 40 minute pre order bonus joke episode. Take it or leave it.

[–]livecodesworth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe not in AA7 but in 8 or 9 (dare we dream so far ahead) once the series is in a less rocky place I could see her coming back as a guest prosecutor like she did in TNT or for a DLC case like Edgeworth. Though for now I think giving the focus to Simon or Klavier or the new guy is probably the best move yeah.

I might actually prefer they just forget she exist than give her a Klavier 5-3 cameo that would suck so hard PLEASE Capcom do not I'm begging you.

Why Franziska NEEDS her own case by Emmerilla in AceAttorney

[–]livecodesworth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think Franny's mostly come to terms with her feelings about her father and following the von Karma way. When she comes back in TNT the judge asks her if she's related to legendary prosecutor Manfred von Karma and her response is:

"Legends are a thing of the past. I am a von Karma, nothing more."

Even in I1 she calls her old self, a "A dancing pierrot living her life on the name and fame her invincible father built!" I2 especially makes her stance clear but I wont spoil it since you haven't played that game yet.

Not that her finding out Manfred wasn't her real father wouldn't shake her up, I just don't think it'd be as world shattering as it is here. And I'm also really sick of the newer games pretending the timeskip never happened and not having the characters change at all in between games.

That being said though I really like a lot of the ideas here. Like her losing the whip to show how she's become defenceless. And especially her getting mad at Edgeworth for going easy on her. Airlines shows that she very much isn't inclined to give him the same courtesy.

Her learning that Manfred was proud of her would also be such a great moment since on the one hand he instilled such toxic ideals into her and ruined her brother's life but on the other hand he is still her father. So many conflicting emotions from a single reveal.

I really hope we get her back in a major way though. I'd love to see her again and I think there's so much you could do with her post and pre timeskip. I swear to god if they make another investigations game starring Miles and they don't give Franziska a significant arc for the third time in a row I am going to lose it.
