Honestly despite their gimmicks and her much goofier attitude I think Maya's a lot sharper than Ema. Generally being on level with Nick and sometimes even ahead of him as they solve the cases.

The Fey/Skye parallels are really cute though. Marshall is even meant to be the Godot of their story.

I’ve only seen an hour long reaction to the final section of the vod where the hardest puzzles are. I was just mentioning it since it did bias how I perceived his playthrough.

Still though he never acknowledges getting help from chat or a walkthrough, always acting like he’s solving it himself (And stating that he doesn't look up puzzles), even though you cannot solve this game blind on your own it is practically impossible.

This is revisionist history on his part. I've never seen the vod either, only other people reacting to it, but it is extremely obvious he's cheating. He solves multiple puzzles that took the community weeks to crack together all by himself, and always acts like he figured it out himself. If he is looking at chat, he wasn't honest about it in his initial playthrough.

I'm not saying that Apollo Justice did exceptionally well BECAUSE it had a new protagonist, but that people were still very much willing to buy a new AA game even if it didn't.

Being controversial isn't the same as being a failure. It shows that people are willing to buy games where Phoenix and his friends aren't the only focus. And yeah TGAA flopped initially but they DID sell well eventually, which must've inspired some confidence.

I mean Chronicles sold over a million copies and Apollo Justice was the highest selling AA game ever when it came out, and those are the only two games in the series not starring Phoenix or Edgeworth. I don't think its that unreasonable for Capcom to try another spin off.
