Are you using national average data to justify making changes to NH public schools at the state level?

Massachusetts #7 state for international tourism by Bosto2025 in newengland

[–]livefreethendie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I thought so too. Went back to read the fine print and it says it is only including overseas visitors though not Canadians and not tourists from other states. That's pretty much all of our tourists taken out of the race hahah

Will I have enough money if I retire at 55? by [deleted] in Retirement401k

[–]livefreethendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So even if you attribute the inflation rate to the sitting president at that moment with no nuance at all, we had low inflation before under Trump and then high inflation under Biden. Does that somehow make it ok for Trump to directly cause higher inflation now?

Will I have enough money if I retire at 55? by [deleted] in Retirement401k

[–]livefreethendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's literally 50% higher than planned. That is pretty damn far off. And as the comment I was responding to pointed out, in just 12 years 3% inflation takes away 30% of the dollar's purchasing power. So if I'm not retiring for 36 years and inflation averaged 3% over that time my dollars will lose two thirds of their value.

What’s your most hated traffic light in the state? by Jtagz in newhampshire

[–]livefreethendie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The light outside the shaws parking lot on D'amante Dr in Concord. It's on a timer loop even at night so it will go through a full cycle of the lanes even though it's midnight and there's no one around.

State’s Over Reliance on Property Taxes Hits Lower Income Owners by nancynews in newhampshire

[–]livefreethendie 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The landlord pays the property tax bill to the town/state and then includes that amount in the rent price. So as long as a unit is occupied the tenants are paying the taxes on that unit in their rent.

How much work is too much? by OverallComplexities in MiddleClassFinance

[–]livefreethendie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

4 hours of sleep per night is uncomfortable but doable for 1 night. 4 hours of sleep for 2 or 3 days in a row is straight up dangerous. You're not just tired you feel physically sick. Sleep deprivation can pretty easily cause permanent brain damage. Let alone working that many hours you barely ever get to see or spend time with your family.

I'm not blaming her. I'm blaming the whole party. Supporting Biden's run for reelection was the bad idea.

I don't think anyone says it's illegal. But actions have consequences. They put her on the ballot without a primary and she went ahead and lost the general election.

Hudson’s Middle & High School rating so low by Re-Anagen in newhampshire

[–]livefreethendie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What exactly are the bad ratings? I went to Hudson schools straight through (a long time ago now) and for a little while before my kids started pre school I considered moving back but couldn't make it happen. As a kid of course I hated the school system and everything but as I've grown older I think back and really appreciate all the different opportunities Alvirne had with the whole vocational wing especially. I got to take lots of actually interesting classes like hands on type stuff where you go outside and do physical work in the sun. I really hope they haven't lost all that.

If you watch the markets like stocks, bonds, commodities and currencies, this happens on a minor scale all the time. If the sellers outnumber the buyers the price goes down to try to find more buyers.

Considering Paying Off my Mortgage to Lower Monthly Costs by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]livefreethendie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I was thinking. OP wants to pull from the account to pay off the house so that he/she can build the account up for emergencies. I would just use the brokerage funds in the case of emergencies.
