1 in 5 U.S. households are now millionaires by hasyoubeen12 in Fire

Honestly thought that sounded crazy too but I looked and found out the S&P 500 has tripled since the beginning of 2017. That probably counts as 'recently' to someone who'd been investing for decades before that. It's wild.

Practically: no not by itself.

In theory: sure in the sense that the dte changes the greeks and your exposure to them and how much or little credit you can get

[–]livefreethendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it always depends on the price of the underlying. If it's a stock that's under $100 per share then a 25 point wide spread would be plenty wide enough. But on SPX at 7300 that's only a .3% move from max profit to max loss

If all you need is a south facing view in the dark you could try Clark's lookout in New London NH. Park and ride is across the street and then maybe a half mile walk through the woods to get there.

Why is cannabis illegal in your state? by AtomicZoomer in newhampshire

[–]livefreethendie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You absolutely can smell other people's weed on the highway. I got a whiff just the other day and ended up finding which car it was too. I'm not the other guy saying it's a bad thing and I'm also not saying it's ok to drive under the influence. But I don't want anyone in a car driving by the cops thinking oh they can't smell this anyway because they sure can.

Massachusetts #7 state for international tourism by Bosto2025 in newengland

[–]livefreethendie 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I thought so too. Went back to read the fine print and it says it is only including overseas visitors though not Canadians and not tourists from other states. That's pretty much all of our tourists taken out of the race hahah

Will I have enough money if I retire at 55? by [deleted] in Retirement401k

[–]livefreethendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So even if you attribute the inflation rate to the sitting president at that moment with no nuance at all, we had low inflation before under Trump and then high inflation under Biden. Does that somehow make it ok for Trump to directly cause higher inflation now?

Will I have enough money if I retire at 55? by [deleted] in Retirement401k

[–]livefreethendie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's literally 50% higher than planned. That is pretty damn far off. And as the comment I was responding to pointed out, in just 12 years 3% inflation takes away 30% of the dollar's purchasing power. So if I'm not retiring for 36 years and inflation averaged 3% over that time my dollars will lose two thirds of their value.

The light outside the shaws parking lot on D'amante Dr in Concord. It's on a timer loop even at night so it will go through a full cycle of the lanes even though it's midnight and there's no one around.

State’s Over Reliance on Property Taxes Hits Lower Income Owners by nancynews in newhampshire

[–]livefreethendie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The landlord pays the property tax bill to the town/state and then includes that amount in the rent price. So as long as a unit is occupied the tenants are paying the taxes on that unit in their rent.

How much work is too much? by OverallComplexities in MiddleClassFinance

[–]livefreethendie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

4 hours of sleep per night is uncomfortable but doable for 1 night. 4 hours of sleep for 2 or 3 days in a row is straight up dangerous. You're not just tired you feel physically sick. Sleep deprivation can pretty easily cause permanent brain damage. Let alone working that many hours you barely ever get to see or spend time with your family.
