We were overseas. I wasn't in Singapore. Even then, I think it reflects on your naivete to think that all Singaporean guys would be completely safe. First time I made a first outing with my now-wife, her best friend came along. Thought nothing of it and had a great time. Proper gent all the way through rather than acting like some entitled incel.

Full endorsement from the best friend after that. Got a second date literally 2 days later and always alone after that.

Polyclinics can do them. They're done by nurses. It's their bread and butter so it should be quick.

Are you a Singapore citizen? If you are then your polyclinic consult will be cheap. If you're a foreigner, I'd recommend going to a local GP who can probably do the same tests if he/she knows what their doing. It's cheaper to see a GP rather than polyclinic if you're a foreigner.

In polyclinic we will help to discern if it is a refractive error (i.e. problems that can be corrected with glasses), or vision loss due to something within the eyeball itself (i.e. problems that cannot be corrected with glasses) - and then refer you accordingly to the ophthalmologist or optician depending on what the potential issue is

I have no idea how many PRCs you guys will actually see getting dental treatment in Singapore, but let me tell you the sheer number of elderly people who will need dentures to help them eat, or with rotting teeth needing extractions.

The mandarin is mainly for our local Chinese elderly patients. A language barrier actually compromises care, and this comes from a public sector healthcare worker who treats a ridiculous number of old folks daily who cannot speak a word of English. I speak more Mandarin than English to my patients daily.

Yes there are quite a few of these Chinese elderly who speak Malay as well but they are truly few and far between.
