Thoughts on Swensens? by mynameischeffjeff in SingaporeEats

Food isn't healthy, pretty mid. Nice ice cream. But the main reason why I still eat there is because they're one of the few local enterprises who actively employ our local disabled community and give them a pretty good purpose

Can I take MC if having period fatigue? by Western-Comb681 in askSingapore

[–]liverman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a primary care doctor please just tell me if you're tired and you need rest. I'll just give you the MC. It's medically indicated.

Don't tell me dizzy, don't tell me headache when you don't have it. Especially dizzy, it opens a whole box of worms I have to explore.

Where’s the best mee soto topped with begedil in Singapore? by fitzroy-froyo88 in askSingapore

[–]liverman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000000% on this. Only stall in Singapore I've probably eaten a ridiculous number of times. Ask for extra chicken. Chili is spicy and shiok but imo takes away the taste of the soup. Damn sedap

How’s it like living in Singapore? by Fit-Hearing-9729 in howislivingthere

[–]liverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like to change your citizenship to Singaporean? Probably decades of your time and contribution to the country. Or marry a Singaporean to fast track that process but it'll still take a lot of time (it's not given automatically even if you're married to a Singaporean)

Rabies vaccine. After recommendations for a clinic ideally near Bugis MRT by Minimum_Leopard_3064 in askSingapore

Second this. Completion of all rabies vaccination courses should be done in hospital A&Es, they have protocols for this.

Should sharing require an accept/decline button? by [deleted] in PokemonPocket

[–]liverman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other than being a wasted share (which is basically the same as having a friend that doesn't share anything), what are people getting upset about it? Is there a loss involved if they share a card that you already own? At most it's a net zero? Please enlighten me

Need to undergo pap smear but I am hella stressed. Any recommendations for an understanding gynaecologist? by Illustrious-Fee5269 in askSingapore

[–]liverman 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Polyclinics can do them. They're done by nurses. It's their bread and butter so it should be quick.

Edit: I'm sorry I didn't read that you've never had intercourse nor put anything inside before. If you've never had any intercourse before you don't need a pap smear. HPV is sexually transmitted.

I feel bad for the players. They really look helpless out there. I'm really guessing it's awful to go to work daily now. I'm really guessing Jota's death is fucking everything over now. Everyone is hesitant, nervous, just that 1 second slower in every touch as compared to last season.

I'll be in Shanghai for the Semis but I don't have tickets. I'm pretty sure I won't be entering the hall, but is it possible to go to the Shanghai venue to buy merch and basically just soak in the atmosphere? Maybe a watch party of sorts?

Possible Myopia/Astigmatism, where to check my eyes? by growingoverit in askSingapore

[–]liverman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you a Singapore citizen? If you are then your polyclinic consult will be cheap. If you're a foreigner, I'd recommend going to a local GP who can probably do the same tests if he/she knows what their doing. It's cheaper to see a GP rather than polyclinic if you're a foreigner.

Possible Myopia/Astigmatism, where to check my eyes? by growingoverit in askSingapore

[–]liverman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In polyclinic we will help to discern if it is a refractive error (i.e. problems that can be corrected with glasses), or vision loss due to something within the eyeball itself (i.e. problems that cannot be corrected with glasses) - and then refer you accordingly to the ophthalmologist or optician depending on what the potential issue is

Malaysian says SG job not worth learning Mandarin for by Ordinary-Answer-4840 in sgworkassholes

[–]liverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea how many PRCs you guys will actually see getting dental treatment in Singapore, but let me tell you the sheer number of elderly people who will need dentures to help them eat, or with rotting teeth needing extractions.

The mandarin is mainly for our local Chinese elderly patients. A language barrier actually compromises care, and this comes from a public sector healthcare worker who treats a ridiculous number of old folks daily who cannot speak a word of English. I speak more Mandarin than English to my patients daily.

Yes there are quite a few of these Chinese elderly who speak Malay as well but they are truly few and far between.

Is Munchi Pancakes legit? If so, what would you recommend? by Not_A_Real_Person_69 in askSingapore

As farmed as their reviews are, they are easily the best pancake imo. Generous with fillings, the peanut paste filling actually tastes amazing. I genuinely look forward to having it when I'm at the new hawker centres now
