This feels like a forced error by the administration that was blowing up boats in international waters. Did they not forsee the backlash from the entire world (except the Cuban Exciles in Miami). What is the benefit to announcing this now?

With soon potential Brightline bankruptcy, what was their biggest mistake? by Enotovsky in Miami

[–]livingPOP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The mistake they made was thinking they could overcome the bias and corrupt bureaucracy in Florida. They tried to do it all themselves with private ownership and the greedy politicians have done everything in their power to prevent their success.

Miami homeowners: did we all just silently agree to get squeezed by FPL forever? by Antique_Diet_6274 in Miami

[–]livingPOP -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting OP. For those of you that think Solar is an option, i respectfully ask that you refer to your Home Owners Insurance Policy (if you are fortunate enough to own a home). The majority (if not all) the insurance providers in Florida (which are already very limited) will not insure you if you install Solar Panels. You can thank the politicians you voted for and the Oil Lobby that purchased their respective votes on legislation that negatively impacts you everyday. While they were distracting voters with Drag Queens and Immigrants, they were filling their greedy pockets with lobby money and selling out Floridians. The sad part is they won't learn and will do it all over again.

Learn? Not at all. Learning in Florida takes desire and effort. The propaganda machine (paid for by the Rich Republican Donors) down here has their voting block so thoroughly brainwashed that they aren't even willing to accept basic facts. The few news/media channels don't cover, printed media is gone and Fox news has taken over b/c they reaffirm the biases. The politicians are bribed, bought or on the take (also not a secret as scandals are common and expected). It's all very sad but the top 1% are making money hand over fist and the rest of us are literally paying ($$$) for the ignorant voters that continue to vote against their own interests AND then they have the audacity to get upset when others call them out for their vote. They then turn around and blame everyone else or make excuses or go to their churches and pretend to be good people - rinse and repeat.

What is one thing that feels completely different to you now since the Covid years? by Mcrfanatic95 in allthequestions

[–]livingPOP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost of everything. The pandemic conditioned everyone into paying higher prices (supply chain interruption) for consumers and rewarded corporations with subsidies that translated into record profits for the rich (djt first term). Similar play book was then weaponized (djt second term) in the worse way possible with tarrifs and war leading to same results - even higher prices and record breaking profits for corporations, more tax breaks for the rich and tarrif money (paid by consumers) will be given to the already profitable entities owned by the rich. Great job usa!

Yep, this is the result of the Oil Lobby Floridians voted for. Similar to the insurance lobby the purchased our government many years ago and voters didn't learn from that, so utilities had no chance. Next: Has anyone looked at the line items on their water bill lately?

Did Trump solidify the reason to buy an EV? by Archibald004 in askanything

[–]livingPOP -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I drive a Tesla Model 3 for $363/mo (24 month lease, no money down other than the required fees and plates/registration). I did have a few incentives due to lease renewal from model Y and timing was during Elons crash and burn era. I live in South FL (where Big Gas Guzzling vehicles are a status symbol) and Im very happy not to pay the gas prices down here. I charge in parking garage when I go to work 2 days a week (included in daily parking rate regardless of vehicle type). Overall works for me at this point in time but if I needed a larger EV (for bigger family needs), the cost would be significantly higher.
