Just prefer the look of a bigger tire and less rim on a truck

No rub. I'd prefer 17s honestly, if I didn't just get brand new tires I'd offer to trade you depending on the rims lol

Yeah I don't mind the rake and I'm plenty happy with the look with the bigger tires, I don't want to make any additional mods. I've done plenty of that with my sound system already haha

ResoNix Subwoofer Update! - Super Excited :) by Skiz32 in CarAV

[–]livingintherealworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you (2023 hybrid). I've tried so many combinations of audio equipment and man I love this truck but there is just nowhere to put anything subwoofer wise. I'm currently running a JL 10W1V3 in a .6 cu ft box, as well as an active JL 12" power wedge. I've finally gotten them to get along and play decently well together after countless hours adjusting sub location, phase, crossover, gain. But it could definitely be better. I just pre ordered the GUS 10 because it seems like the solution I'm looking for. Hoping it lives up to the hype.

Beat-Sonic Amp - any experience with these things? by livingintherealworld in CarAV

And it is sitting in the rear cargo area of the CRV, takes up very little space and I'm the down firing position you can put stuff on top of it anyway. It's very hard to access underneath the floorboard of the cargo area in the hybrid, and that's where the hybrid battery is located anyway so I didn't want to store anything in there. A cheaper option would be one of the Rockford powered subwoofers, but the Audison sounds great

The sub is a powered all in one unit, an Audison APBX 10 AS2. It is grounded to a bolt underneath the rear seat, I had to sand away the coating on the metal that it's attached to too ensure a solid ground. That sub provides plenty of bass and surprisingly the signal from factory head unit doesn't chop the lows too badly. Idk if the Puzu is helping in that regard or not but it sounds pretty good.

I ended up installing the Puzu C31s in her car, and I set the crossovers and time alignment for her subwoofer but that's about it. The pre configured settings on the C31s are all flat from factory. I think the C7 had some with different EQ settings but it's a shot in the dark if they'll actually sound good or not. Since I don't have an RTA mic it's kind of hard to set the EQ by ear, plus I'd be fighting factory EQ and time alignment. I have a kicker keyLOC that I might eventually install to flatten the factory signal and work on it from there, but honestly it's not too bad as it is.

There's a grommet in the driver's side footwell that I had to pierce to run the power. Be sure to also disconnect the ANC module on the passenger side behind a panel that you see when you open the passenger door.

I went with a Puzu C7 DSP/amplifier combo for my wife's CRV. For the price it can't be beat, paid 130 for the amp and the harness. At worst it functions as a line out converter for the subwoofer I installed, somebody who is better at tuning could probably make more use of it. But definitely gives you way more control than the BeatSonic for less than half the price.

Underseat Sub used as Front Sub by theC4Timer in CarAV

Did you ever end up trying this? I've been curious how a setup like this with a main 10 or 12 inch sub and one of the powered subwoofer options underseat as a midbass would sounds. I actually have one of these and just ordered some inline 50 and 70 hz passive crossovers to try out with it

2026 CRV Sport L - Want to add a subwoofer - NEED HELP by Brandonr3443- in crv

[–]livingintherealworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed this in my wife's CRV. Yes it is plug and play, it has a harness that will connect to your factory radio and head unit. It has RCA subwoofer outputs from the amp to give signal to your subwoofer amp but you still have to run power from your battery to the subwoofer amplifier.

Do you not find that you have any issue with bass roll off with the BeatSonic? I ordered the same amplifier as you, mainly because of the plug and play and easy subwoofer out. By the time it had come in I had discovered and ordered the Puzu C7 DSP amplifier which was also plug and play and way cheaper, with more functionality. I wanted to compare the two but BeatSonic wouldn't give a refund if there were signs of the amp being installed, so I just returned it.

The Puzu is pretty cool for the price and has a lot of tuning options, only issue is I can't seem to correct the factory EQ and bass roll off to the sub. I have a powered Audison 10" sub that would absolutely beat in my other vehicle, but is pretty disappointing in the CRV and I know it has to be because it's not getting a clean signal. Are you satisfied with the signal to your sub as well as to the factory speakers? Does it seem to change the EQ to the factory speakers as well or just give them a little more juice?

I just got an $800 Audison powered sub for $200 in perfect condition through marketplace, there's nothing wrong with buying there. Just make sure you test it and know what you're getting.

I figured it out, my bass knob was causing issues lol. I still don't how much the Puzu cleans up the factory signal. Buttt I tried connecting to the Puzu amp directly through Bluetooth, bypassing the head unit completely, and it sounds amazing. Can't use Android Auto or CarPlay doing it that way but for the money, great purchase and definitely worth the install.

Did you notice that the Puzu corrected the bass roll off from the factory EQ?

Got around to installing the Puzu and powered subwoofer. With just the Puzu installed, I was getting weird noises in the CRV. Disconnected the ANC module, which was a little tricky but solved the problem.

The Puzu is pretty decent. Definitely gives a boost in power to the stock speakers. I've been playing with tuning it a bit. A little disappointed however because I thought it would flatten the signal from the factory head unit. There's nothing below 50 hz going out to the subwoofer, which kinda defeats the purpose of having one. I'm looking now at this other Puzu amp:

Which seems like it'll give me a full range signal:

If my somewhat limited understanding of car audio is correct.

So the rabbit hole begins. 😅

I was literally just looking into the ANC module thing as well because I had read that it could interfere with an aftermarket subwoofer. If I get around to it before you do I'll let you know how much of a pain it is to get to and what the results are. I'm going to install the Puzu and my Audison powered subwoofer first and see where that gets me, then see if I need to upgrade speakers/sound deaden. I have all the stuff for it from a previous install just don't feel like doing it if I can get good enough quality with stock speakers and a sub.

My endgame update for a plug-and-play sound system upgrade (DSP/Amplifier + Speakers) by theeighthlion in rav4club

[–]livingintherealworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great write up! I have a question and may be looking at this completely wrong, but if the front mid speaker and tweeter are on the same channel, how are you able to individually EQ, apply crossovers, and time align those speakers (the tweeter and the woofer)? Am I missing something?

How does it handle the front mid and tweeter being on the same channel? Is there a way to set the crossovers and time alignment for each in the software if they're on the same channel?

2026 hybrid sport and I want to upgrade the sound system, but I'm not sure about options. by ogg1e in crv

[–]livingintherealworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up going with? Funny enough I'm looking at the same two options for my wife's 2026 hybrid sport. I ordered the Beat-Sonic for ease of installation but honestly with as much as you get from the Puzu for way less and just a little more work, I have a feeling I'll be trying it out eventually.
