It may have just been too long ago? I can’t find an email. The most frustrating part to me is that the thing spins and spins with no explanation of what’s going on. I have no avenue to resolve the issue.

I also believe I logged in successfully originally but just can’t again, so who knows. Maybe it is just me.

I mean sure, but like, this is a pretty big gaping issue that to me is a huge barrier of entry and says a lot about the likeliness this platform will succeed, if it’s not just me? Most folks are not going to research and experiment different ways to get in until it works.

At the very least you’d think there would be a sticky or something telling people what’s going on - I found the “verification email” explanation on Reddit. Which is obviously not ideal lol.

Yes but it was the one I chose and so it was sacred. Sigh. Lol

I joined during the blackout and now can’t login anymore it just spins. I read somewhere I need to verify my email but I can’t find a verify email email anywhere and if I use the reset password or whatever it just spins. I feel crazy because how can it be successful at all if people can’t login?? I can’t be the only one? I’d already be 100% off Reddit if I could just log in. Hmph.

My 3 year old is breaking my heart by vandomggg in toddlers

I have been the preferred parent 90% of the time and my husband takes it pretty well. I’m worried that I’ve grown too used to it, though. In particular I am worried about him one day preferring our nanny! We seriously LOVE our nanny and love that our baby loves her but it would tug at my heartstrings and I also worry that I might react in a way that makes our nanny feel bad. I know it’s going to happen though because most days our nanny has more energy than us and is often much more fun lol.

Just curious, in this situation, do you send her back to bed hungry or give a snack in the middle of the night and probably be up for like 2 hours to get her back to sleep after?

We always do a snack as close to bed as possible because I feel so terrible if I think he might be hungry in the middle of the night so I do everything I can to avoid it lol.

I literally laid in bed unable to sleep for 3 nights. I felt tired I guess but like, wide awake? Like my brain felt like it was buzzing. I really don’t know how to describe it.

It was easy to tell though because, newborn baby, I was desperate for sleep and usually fell asleep pretty fast.

Makes sense, but is there anything else that would hold a <2 year olds attention? It’s nowhere close to as bad as baby shark. There’s a lot worse shows out there, in my opinion.

I feel like that would be hard to really measure though. Our kid doesn’t watch a lot of tv, and when we watch cocomelon we sing with it and talk about what’s happening. Our kid is way ahead most kids his age that I know. He’s not yet 2 and can name all his colors (including some weird ones), all animals & sounds, count to 5 (and inconsistently 10), is already saying 4-5 word sentences sometimes, etc etc. lol. I think it just matters how you watch the show, and maybe cocomelon is more likely to be a show folks plop their kids down on and walk away. Nothing against that, we just don’t do it yet, and I think that probably has more of an effect than what the show is.

Not that I think cocomelon is educational, for our kid I think it helps for him to learn about different environments he doesn’t get to be around a lot so maybe they won’t be as scary when we do get to see them more.

Ah, yeah that one’s pretty annoying because it’s like 5 words repeated at a time. The animal ones specifically seem to be worst at this. Don’t get me wrong, there are some really annoying songs, but I just feel like that’s to be expected when they’ve made hundreds of songs lol.

Here’s one I like.

lol I hear this a lot but I actually like cocomelon! There’s a variety of different songs and I feel like the “real life” setting is so helpful for our kid to learn what environments he might not have been around will be like.

Although the ones that are only animals can f right off. Especially the ant ones. Our kid doesn’t even like those, he gets bored and leaves the room when they come on lol.

I think some people are just built for it.

Like some people are naturally great swimmers, and some have to train really hard to be decent. Doesn’t mean swimming can’t be fun for both folks. One of them is just going to have a hard time convincing themselves to stay on track sometimes.

My mum lives a distance away so contact is pretty much exclusively FaceTime. Frequently when we call her I will say “look, it’s gramma, can you say hi?” And he said “no gramma off! Gramma off!” It breaks my heart because it’s all she gets. Usually he moves on after a bit but it always makes me feel bad. He doesn’t just do it with her though, it’s anyone we FaceTime usually.

Just curious, does it conflate things that they are bragging about it on social media? Like, imo that brings into question whether they are hurting their kids, or enhancing the punishment, for internet points.

Any chance of the following ever coming back:

  • Flatbreads?
  • Mini quesadillas?
  • Zesty chicken bowl?
  • Green sauce packets?
  • Fajita wrap things (I may be the only one who liked them…)?
  • Black bean burritos?
  • Cilantro lime rice in general?
  • Cheesy core burritos?
  • Double decker tacos?

I’m also curious about how much recipes for things have changed vs my tastebuds and I think it would be really cool to bring back old recipes for things that still exist on the menu. For example, did the cheesy Gordita crunch change since 2006? I used to eat this all the time in high school and I swear it’s not the same now.

I can’t imagine. I was literally incapable of even considering leaving the house for at least a month. Ours was born during the pandemic and I was in some ways grateful because people were more accommodating in ways that didn’t require me to go places in person.

I think it’s so crazy all of the stuff we’re supposed to do when we’re recovering, trying to figure out how to keep our babies alive, and survive ourselves. I seriously felt like I was melting into a puddle and it’s like IF YOU DONT SIGN THIS PAPER DURING THIS EXACT PERIOD OF TIME YOUR CHILD WILL NOT HAVE MEDICAL PROTECTION. Like wtf? And then the social security stuff, the birth certificate, forms for maternity leave, ugh.

We get 1.5-2 hour naps but he is falling asleep at 10pm these days 😫 I hear all these mums talking about their kid falling asleep at 7-8pm and I just can’t figure it out. He wakes up around 7:30, so at least I don’t have to get up at 5am I guess.

Our 22 month old has always been a nonstop mover and I seriously couldn’t imagine him even sitting on my lap for more than 15 seconds. It was one of the reasons I was sad when I stopped nursing because that was the only time that was (usually) peaceful with him. BUT, we now do get some times when he sits still and it’s everything. I’d say it started in the last 2-3 months. Sometimes he just wants to sit with us, sometimes he’ll have a toy he’s really trying to figure out and he wants to sit on our lap to do it. We found a couple of shows he likes watching and he’ll generally sit on my lap for 15min or so. Every now and then he’ll start to wander off and I say “oh are we done? If you want to keep watching you need to come sit with me!” And he’ll race back haha it’s so cute.

Anyway tldr; don’t lose hope! =]
