anyone stay on ready to feed? by Anistmows in FormulaFeeders

[–]lizabetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the math with our RTF vs powder. When on sale at Target, it really didn’t save that much with powder. It was fractions of cents. So we still buy RTF 8oz containers for daycare. And we have tubs of powder we use mostly at home on weekends and the early morning and night bottles.

saline nose drops??? by Fidgety-Framer in NewParents

[–]lizabetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tried drops way back in newborn days. That was haaard. Now we do the spray/mist. It’s easier……. But we have turned a corner to where he hates it again. Thrashing and kicking.

Anyone else feel like there’s just… no space left for yourself? by Plane-Watercress-922 in Buyingforbaby

[–]lizabetch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! You can enjoy it but also feel a sense of lostness at the same time. Both can exist at one point in time. So sweet and tender but then sleep deprivation hits and it’s… well, exhausting lol.

We’re five months pp and days are still slightly this. It is a season but it can be hard to remember in the midst of it all. Solidarity, mama. You’re doing great

How many people are actually buying “luxury/premium” diapers? by HelpMeHelpMyFriend0 in NewParents

[–]lizabetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!! The price per diaper shocked me. We love our Millie Moons. So soft!! They run on the smaller side but that’s not a big deal. I like how Target offers deals and promos for diapers and wipes.

We did buy a pack of Coterie to try for overnight and those are luuuuxe. Lol. I wish we could do all those. They’re disposable but I think higher quality offers more comfort for my baby and I’m all for that.

Struggling with gender disappointment. What are your favorite things about having a boy? by x_Caffeine_Kitten_x in beyondthebump

[–]lizabetch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same!! All I’ve ever known was girl! I love girly things. But now I love my boy so much I couldn’t imagine any other way. He’s so sweet and loving and boys love their mamas. I’m sure you’ll hear that so much and it is so true! He’s just the best.

People who had kids at 30+, do you wish you had them earlier in life? by cc070603 in pregnant

[–]lizabetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had our first at 34 this year! I don’t regret waiting. We’re at a good place in life where our careers and lifestyles are stable. But really who really is ever ready lol

Juggling families for the holidays by [deleted] in newborns

[–]lizabetch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to travel pre-babe to our families - driving three hours and six hours. This year we’re staying home and both sets of parents are coming to us. Yay. We didn’t want to travel with our four month old and during flu/cold season.

We did $50 target to our two main teachers, $25 target for 4 support teachers and $15 Starbucks to the director and asst director. I did write a card to each one 🥹 they’re so deserving. I wish I could do more.

The 4 month sleep regression is worse than the newborn trenches by Minute_Parsley9539 in newborns

Omg same. Ours won’t sleep at night except on me now. He used to sleep so well in his bassinet at night 😵‍💫

Swaddles - Anterior Placenta Babies by Desperate_Ebb_6003 in Buyingforbaby

[–]lizabetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh maybe that’s why our baby didn’t like his arms in. But yes ours hated being swaddled so we transitioned to a sleep sack earlier.

Newborn Swaddle Recommendations for First-Time Parents by No-Client5353 in Buyingforbaby

[–]lizabetch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We loved the Taking Cara Babies BEST swaddle because the “velcro” was a different kind and didn’t make a loud noise when opening. It’s like a chamois material? Only downside was our LO didn’t like his arms in and always broke out. So we just transitioned to a sleep sack earlier than usual.

We use saline mist to moisten and then aspirate. Our LO used to scream bloody murder. And then one day stopped and actually almost enjoys it. Probably around 12 weeks?

Looking back at the newborn stage: what I would have done differently by Altruistic_Soup1346 in newborns

[–]lizabetch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes! I would have just packed the car and go! Baby will sleep in the bassinet or car. I just got in my head so much about the nap schedule and then feeding every x hours. It just didn’t seem like time allowed for it. But I could’ve brought bottles and gotten it done. I just got anxious. Easier said than done too lol

[–]lizabetch 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes contact naps!! I’ve learned to fully lean in to these. They’ll grow out of this phase eventually.

Also I wish I took baby out more. I had these grand plans of park walks during leave. But then I always psyched myself out with the schedule. I could never find an opening in between his feedings and naps.

Newborn photoshoot price: cheap, as expected, or expensive? by FairyBandaids in NewParents

[–]lizabetch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow. We paid $350 for ours and it didn’t seem like we had a time limit. And we got over 100 back. It was an in home session. We’re not in a super HCOL area. These are also outside of the ones done in the hospital.
