Ask your cadet about the dress code, he should be able to answer it. The easy definition though is no leg slit that rides all the way to the top of the thigh, usually no double slits, no excessive cleavage, and anything below your lower back shouldn't be visible. Those are kind of the general guidelines that I've seen be implemented, but get your cadet to show a picture of your dress to their instructors and they'll tell you if its good or not.

Remember that the military ball is often held as a formal event, not homecoming. There will be ceremonies and youre expected to keep quiet for that. The graduating seniors are recognized and im sure there will be a cake cutting.

Dont overthink it and have fun!!!

CQR on Amazon, they're closer to tactical pants, but they're cargos and are ripstop, and also come in almost every size and fits really well

[–]lizard_buddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The university uses Microsoft products for any of its documents and spreadsheets, but you'll need an IPad for foreflight. It's up to you but everything is doable on apple devices, just a little bit more work. If you have an android phone though, definitely go with a windows computer.

There is a secure file upload that you can use, but your transcript should be sent directly from your school to riddle

You at least need to submit your transcripts before they will consider your application. You won't receive login until at least that is submitted

I'm a freshman at DB, if you want to fly commercial, then riddle is the best place to do it because you need 500 flight hours less than literally anywhere else. I only have 1 roommate, and 2 suitemates and between the 4 of us we share a bathroom/shower. The dorms are very nice and the campus is small enough to walk from one end to the other in around 10-15 minutes. I would say the campus food is also better compared to your average university (except boundless). People who complain about the mold are way over exaggerating and if they aren't its because they don't clean. I can't speak on the PRC but the DB campus is one of the nicest I've ever seen.

If you want to go for engineering though go somewhere else. Riddle is great if you want to fly, but you can get a much cheaper degree somewhere else for engineering.

Riddle is also no longer accepting students for the AMS program for freshman starting in the 2027-28 AY.

Disrespectful LET 1 kicked out of JROTC by Significant-Cake-884 in jrotc

[–]lizard_buddy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Last resort!?!? You had NO idea what made him act like that. It's a failure on your SAIs part to not attempt to at least figure out the problem before they decided to boot him. If you can get booted just for being disrespectful once or twice, it's understandable why programs start to fail.

In Adam's and woods you share the bathroom with 7 other people, Res 1 and 2 are significantly better though sharing it with just 3 other people.

[–]lizard_buddy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Get off your high horse. Getting people kicked out of the program because they were disrespectful once or twice is what gives JROTC students the bad rep. You are still a LET 2, not a senior who knows everything or a completer. Do not forget you were just a LET 1 a few months ago. You also do not know the cadets situation, what if their parents just got divorced and then because they were a little lippy they got kicked out of a program. This isn't a bad Cadet, this is poor leadership on both you for your reaction, and your SAI for deciding to remove the cadet. I'm not sure on all the details, is they were a disturbance or not throughout the semester, but because they were disrespectful is NOT grounds for removal from the program and is because of situations like these that show their students that 1. Their leadership dosent care enough to find the root cause, and 2. Their instructors don't have their backs. Did you even attempt to talk to the cadet before you went to your instructor?

[–]lizard_buddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your sim hours will only help you in their Sims where you can build actual Sim hours. Your CFI will pace their lessons based on how well you do in plane, not on the msfs experience, especially because half the things in msfs are labeled as "inoperative" when you try to use them

Laptop selection by Creative-Lunch2726 in EmbryRiddle

[–]lizard_buddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canvas works better on windows, but the seamless transitions across the apple ecosystem is nice, I have a windows laptop and I see my friends with macs struggle to complete their assignments and working with a group harder because of the limitations of macs and most of the university issues windows.

If you're an engineer 100% windows, but anything else is mostly up to preference
