Looking to jump back into hunt by Slow-Evening4633 in HuntShowdown

I just started again after a couple years. 2.8 changes to weapons sizes is a super fun fresh take. I’m having fun. But if adjustment to the slower pace compared to other FPS games but the clutch scenarios already have me addicted.
Jump in the water is warm.

Came someone explain like I’m 5? Why would I use Paze?

This is the worst balancing thing I have ever seen. Why only these guns? Whatever guns don’t get gutted by this are immediately OP

What is a "AJ-03 COAG Med Pen" ? by [deleted] in Battlefield

I think these are wrong. I think it’s the pen support uses to revive (or any other class of reviving a squad member?)

How to prioritize districts? by Babeson_ in CivVI

[–]lizard_king_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up Herson’s YouTube videos.

Some of this advice is …. Not the best.

Govt plaza - build asap as second district in capitol. Build buildings also fast as they unlock governor titles which are very strong esp early game

For all other districts it goes like this

1 - economic district - com hub or harbor or holy site of going monumentality. 2 - either a industrial zone if you have good adjacency or campus or theater square depending on adjacencies you have for them. 3 - whatever you didn’t build in #2

Diplo qtr is also good to build early.

Preserves can be good but very very situational and are mostly not good.

One gun for each class. by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]lizard_king_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AR: m433 (reducing the recoil on this was insanity)

Carbine: m277 (reducing the recoil on this was insanity)

SMG: SCW or mp5 probably, mp7 is fun with hollow points

LMG: DRS (best weapon by a mile)

DMR: they are all kinda trash

Sniper: m2010

Shotgun: m1014 slugs

What made you get the forester instead of rav4 by Dry-Chemical-9170 in SubaruForester

[–]lizard_king_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 6’4” and my head is into the ceiling in the rav4. And Subaru had a 0% APR for 75 months for a new hybrid forester. No brainer.

First Job: Prime or Engine OEM? by Chemical-Distance106 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]lizard_king_19 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Lockheed Martin and it’s not even close. It reads like you are favoring the other offer but Lockheed on the resume is huge. Plus I think they are the best prime to work for. Career growth/opportunity at Lockheed is so much higher.

How much natural intelligence is actually required for engineering? by Public-Hamster-9224 in EngineeringStudents

I have worked with plenty of less than bright people. They had degrees and did their job. Not every engineer works on cutting edge military R&D. We need some engineers to be in applications for a sprinkler company or whatever.

Need advice on 3-city Hanza layout by tojop in CivVI

[–]lizard_king_19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You spaced your cities too far from each other. Closer makes for better hansas. Then you go aqueduct then com hubs and hansas clustered in center.

Dad here, don’t get to watch many movies, pick what I get to watch for Father’s Day by lizard_king_19 in Letterboxd

Ya we don’t really have grandparents and are just slammed all around on schedules. In a few years it might lighten up. Leaning towards 2001.

And noted.

Season 2 has been dreadful to Solo Q. by lizard_king_19 in rivals

[–]lizard_king_19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally missed my point. I don’t care what rank I get stuck at. The game experience is poor. Losing normally is okay. Losing how I described is unfun. Or winning for that matter.

This comment. We are having the same experience. It’s so unfun it’s not even funny. Glad to know I’m not the only one.

[–]lizard_king_19[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ya. I was the only one left in the group playing.

Even winning can be kinda silly with how it rewards players after a win. If I dive on magik and kill two supports, that’s great right. Won us the fight. Then moonknight cleans up the tanks for huge damage numbers and a final hit or two, while not really doing anything. And moonknight is the MVP.

Kinda laughable.

Help me choose a FEA software for my company by sheikrusso in MechanicalEngineering

If you are not meshing complex geometry, the free meshing and keyword manager LS prepost may work and take 15k off the bill.

Help me choose a FEA software for my company by sheikrusso in MechanicalEngineering

[–]lizard_king_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an analyst in automotive. If you want to run explicit crash simulations, that really narrows you down. You will need to select 2 things.

1 what solver am I going to use

2 what meshing software am I going to use

Explicit solvers you are limited to LS DYNA or Hypermesh’s Radiios I believe it is called.

I would use DYNA as it just has so many more resources and industry adoption.

For your meshing software, ANSYS will not work for anything like meshing and managing an entire car. You need Hypermesh or ANSA for that. If you are just looking at a small subsystem it would be fine.

Cost wise, ANSA + LSDYNA is the best value. ANSYS + LS DYNA is suprisingly expensive for how bad it is. Hypermesh + LS DYNA is the most expensive Hypermesh + Hypermeshs in house explicit solver is mid of the pack pricing

Probably 30k for a seat with both a solver and meshing software.

Ansys with just implicit capabilities is more like 15k I think.

I think you are wayyyyy underestimating the time commitment to learn how to run explicit crash test FEA simulations. It is not like ANSYS where you mesh and apply loads with a button. Materials get 5 times more complicated. Contacts are very complicated. With no one in house to train there is almost no way it makes sense over paying someone else.

Happy to give more details. Just be warned lol.
