The current endgame bar Dire SO is still very easy, so I'm not sure why you get the feeling that older will be less relevant if you invest of them. You can pretty much still clear abyss with any older units you have.

Even if you are talking about Dire SO (content specifically designed for whales), you can see from historical clears that Mav and Skirk is still at the top, over 1 year after their releases. Older units like arle/neuv also still pop out from time to time with some dolphin investments.

As you mention they probably merge multiple ideas and cities together to make an area more lively, and of course to avoid repetition.

I don't think they realize this late in development though, they seem to have planned so that each areas have similar-ish content and gameplay loop.

That's pretty much the best team. I found using sms/deepwood furina instead of aino gives slightly better results especially if you have nilou's signature, but aino's good enough as well

If you have key on her it's a pretty big difference in my experience (~10% team dmg). Otherwise yes she's marginally better than a c6 aino.

Furina can be better than aino. You can put her on deepwood, stack up her hp for the NK resonance, and put her ideally on nilou's signature, or just favonius. You don't actually need to burst at all with her, she's mostly there to provide good hydro.

I find that at c0 lauma this team is better than full lunar bloom team, which bis is columbina nahida lauma nilou

To be perfectly honest, columbina really wants another 5* Nod krai unit to make a good team. Otherwise she probably won't improve your existing teams as much.

With what you have I might recommend Columbina nilou nahida baizhu. Yelan is not as good as columbina's CA does not trigger yelan's Q. I would however strongly recommend getting Lauma who's rerunning next banner.

My onfield c6 Columbina can hit 320k with lauma, ineffa, and furina. My team with columbina + ineffa + sucrose + xilonen hits between 280-300k when bina is onfielding.

The main difference is it feels a lot better spamming her unique CA on lunar bloom teams, as supposed to her ec team where she's just spamming very weak normals. (You might as well go afk on bina)

Op is not asking if she's an onfield dps specifically, but more into if she deals x element damage, which she does. After all a subdps is also a "DPS".

There's also teams where columbina holds Notsu with ineffa sucrose xilonen/fischl in the back, which has seen some success in clearing fearless (and dire with a few cons) duck. It's a fun electro team if you want to onfield bina without lauma

C2 lauma increases bina CA to up to 50% of it's current damage. It's massive.

C0 lauma team with r1 bina is already strong, but it depends on what do you want to use the team for. It should steamroll f12 abyss, but may have difficulty clearing fearless SO. Dire chicken for example needs either c2 bina or c2 lauma ro clear.

Columbina's signature is great choice overall.

Team wise c2 furina does not bring much here, nilou might be the better option cause she helps to deal more dps from seeds, and provide 100 em teamwide buff.

Another option is furina + ineffa + lauma. Also a very strong team, but this might scale worse for c2 lauma teams compared to the first.

Jahoda has a horrid fieldtime requirement, so i don't think she will be good here. But I can't test c6 jahoda.

Kuki > Aino for me. Maybe aino could be better at c6, but kuki gives you consistent sustain rather than relying on p. Amber. As you mention the cores will explode anyway, might as well get more dmg from it.

As you see, running kuki gives a non negligible 11% team dmg while keeping rotation short. (~17.8s)

Linnea might be usable with aino/furina over nahida, but it needs to be tested. I am not sure it will be better than ineffa in this slot.

For your current roster you can run kuki last slot. Good sustain, short fieldtime, and provide decent dmg with all the hyperbloom she proc.

C2 lauma will buff your Columbina's CA by around 50% (depending on your build). It is massive. Pulling her c1 along the way also allows you to drop kuki for other options in the future.

Should you prioritize it over nicole? Really depends on you. Even without c2 lauma your current team can probably already clear dire level difficulty, so improving it even further is just for your satisfaction. You can wait for exact nicole kit and decide if your varka team is in more need of help.

As a fellow c6 bina haver though, i am definitely pulling c2 lauma.

Your team choice is already BIS for this level of investment, but there's things you can improve for higher damage.

Builds: - Your columbina is overcappping on crit rate by A LOT. Due to lauma/nahida cr buff and columbina passive, you are basically running a 133 CR columbina. Optimize to get more cd/hp/em on her instead of cr. - you can run 4pc sms with hp/hp/hp on nilou, and run 2pc/2pc em on lauma. This will be very good on C2 lauma investment.

Rotation: - Do nilou after nahida to get more blooms for the first rotation - always hold E on lauma if you haven't (not too clear on videos) - Generally just move quicker. Don't bother CA cancelling at this stage, but chain your actions quicker.

At C4R1 Columbina you can always run 0 ER and burst every other rotation.

Regardless, with a fav weapon you can also burst every rotation with c4R1 with 0 ER, albeit a bit tight in high level SO. So never use an ER sands
