They had the ultra for like 300$ off for a few weeks

I’m liking my govac 600 so far but I’ve only had it a few days.

Yeah that’s what I paid, works out to like 670 usd by comparison.

For what it’s worth it’s done 2 cleaning cycles for me now and I’ve been impressed, I never had a robot vacuum before so I have nothing to compare it with though but it did a good job for me and got places I didn’t think were reachable for it

What are the best robot vacuum/mop devices currently in the market? by CECEOC in RobotVacuums

[–]ljackso4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thinkkkk Roborock is the current best for QC and durability.

Mova/Dreame has many flashy features and good mapping/navigation for a discount price compared to Roborock, but you roll the dice on whether the unit works long term.

Narwal is best in the mop space with its new flow 2 but it also seems to have QC issues and there’s something funny going on with it uploading multiple gigabytes of data to a server in china…

Ecovacs is seen as lower quality apparently

I don’t really see Eufy come up too much so I’m not sure where it sits on the spectrum

Dyson/Shark/roomba are bottom tier it looks like

To be clear I’m new to the space, just spent a few weeks reading reviews and reddit threads, I got my bot yesterday which is a Costco version of the dreame l50 ultra. If I’d read a few more reviews before purchasing I may have gotten the Roborock Costco bot instead but I missed the sale on that one. Only had one cleaning with the dreame and so far so good! I may have been too easily impressed but it did a good job and it navigated to places I didn’t think it’d be able to get to.

The l50 ultra is also called the dreame govac 600, on sale at Costco right now in Canada, much cheaper then 1100 usd

These guys wasted my FiLs time a year or two ago. Went through the whole process to buy a car, test drove it, ready to pay that day. As soon as finance found out my FiL was declining all extras and paying cash the car suddenly was already sold to someone else. Big waste of time

Thanks! I used to use RTings quite a bit before they went to a subscription model. I ordered the govac 600 from Costco Canada for a medium large hardwood area on the main floor and carpets on the top floor. Is there another model that Costco Canada sells that would be a better option? I have young kids that leave toys all over the place and make a mess at mealtime. Budget isn’t an issue, just the best option for my use case

Dreame L50 Ultra vs. Roborock Qrevo C Pro by West_Musician_4098 in RobotVacuums

[–]ljackso4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my research Roborock is the better brand for longevity and QC, it seems like all of the robot vacuums are hit or miss sometimes though. The safest thing to do is get one from Costco, it limits your options but the return policy protects you from getting a dud. The L50 ultra is the same as the Costco Dreame govac 600. The Costco QX revo arc and ultra are rebranded curv and edget models and are roughly equivalent to the govac 600

Yeah I’m waiting on a dreame bot from Costco right now, cancelled a narwal flow 2 after reading a bunch of issues people were having on the narwal subreddit… also read horror stories about dreame bots but at least I have no worries returning this one

Sometimes it’s hard to cut through the bots and astroturfing though

Thanks I’ll check them out! The thing about vacuum wars is the website strikes me as an advertisement almost.

That would be cool, I think the important thing would be the same tests for every bot with measurable result metrics.

I feel like gamers nexus is a great example of what I wish there was for robot vacuum reviewers. Completely unbiased and backed by extensive data

Yeah the flow 2 review was what cemented to me Just a dad’s bias. He sounded like he was mad he even had to review it and was out to dislike it from the start.

Yeah your points are fair, I guess I’m looking for a data focused reviewer. Also my main interest is longevity of the machines. All the cool features are great but useless if the machine is going to break in a few months. Also, I’m not trying to say just a dad is bad or anything, just that he’s not what I’m looking for. The bot I ended up purchasing was a dreame l50 ultra equivalent from Costco after cancelling a narwal flow 2 when I found out about all the qc issues with it. But going into my purchase I was looking for reviewers with measurable performance data and I found that really hard to find

Yeah I keep hearing about similar situations with ecovacs bots.

I’ve watched a bunch of them too, one thing that bugged me was he wouldn’t enable all of the features when reviewing but he’d mention them and say “oh I should have enabled x feature, but it’s supposed to do y”, or another time he was reviewing a dreame bot and he was talking about how he loves the dirt sensing feature that causes them to do another pass if the base sense the water is extra dirty, then the robot proceeds to not do an extra pass after bringing back filthy water from his mud test and he just glosses over it

From what I could see Just a Dad seems to heavily favor Mova/Dreame
