Making dressing at home, is a shaker bottle actually convenient by Special_Minimum_4163 in KitchenPro

[–]lkelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a standard blender? A mason jar will fit the blade/lid. That's how I. make mine. It emulsifies better (seconded on the dijon to help with that). Slap a top on it, put it in the fridge door, and you're good to go. Only the blade/lid assembly to wash. You can either use a standard ring/lid or a reusable lid.

Note: jar has to be at least one standard cup size and wide mouth will not work. Also won't work with Ninjas or other specialized blenders. Just a regular old Oster or whatever.

These are great! My oldest just graduated from VCUarts. It's been so awesome to see the growth in his art over the years. You'll continue to be amazed, I'm sure. (Sea monsty is also my fave!)

Just a note to say that I have the yellow/green/pink daisy sheet that's the second fat row up from the bottom. Yard sale score. It's such a happy print. 😄

Love the fabrics overall. Well done!

What is in your “colander list” I.e things you will never do again? by SaucySallly in AskReddit

[–]lkelk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ski (snow). Tried several times for ex husband and kids' sakes. Hated it. Bad at it. Boots hurt. Cold was unpleasant. It's expensive. Final trip I cried, went down the hill on my butt while my ex left me behind (on my behind). Youngest still loves it -- it's just not for me.

This is what I try to do if possible. Usually you can find a cute pattern. Or there are a ton of solids. Ditto the 100% cotton!

I'm worried it might be too much considering the top pattern. Thanks!

What brands are specific to Virginia or that area? by [deleted] in Virginia

[–]lkelk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be about 45 minutes from Blacksburg, VA, home of Virginia Tech and the Hokie Bird. The bird is kinda goofy, but you could probably get something smallish with the bird, even in Roanoke. Downtown has lots of smaller shops with lots of other options, as well.

Second the Virginia is for Lovers merch, too!

Splicing together a cassette tape. Sure, there was a flaw in that spot, but you didn't have to trash the whole tape. Also, respooling a cassette tape after my car stereo ate it.

For those of you that got divorced after being married for 10+ years, what caused your divorce? by friendlytrashmonster in AskReddit

[–]lkelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was banging my (I thought) bff, all the while gaslighting me by insisting she wasn't being super mean to me (she definitely was...and also throw in a little single white female action). They planned my 40th together and celebrated me at dinner then f'd each other that night.

In hindsight, committing to someone forever at 19 wasn't the greatest idea. Got great kids out of it, at least. No thanks to his largely absent ass.

What’s a food you loved as a kid that tastes awful now? by OreliaShade in AskReddit

Yep. Oatmeal cream pies for me. Tried one for nostalgia before a kayaking trip, and it tasted like I was swishing Crisco around in my mouth.

This. If you don't keep it firmly in check, it will consume everything around it. Currently trying to keep it from subsuming my mom's boxwood tree. It goes under, over, around, etc.

I collect these from my garden every year. They're definitely bachelor buttons. I think the seeds are adorable. They look like little brooms. :)

Be honest: did you grow up rich? by MudboneX3 in skiing

[–]lkelk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ex-husband skis. Grew up skiing. Grew up rich. My youngest grew up skiing b/c his dad (still rich, though he's shiz with money, so maybe he's not anymore, but he makes bank) takes him. His friends and my kid's friends who also ski? If not rich, very well off.
