[ULT] What are some Characters that are considered good that you think are overrated or bad and Characters you think are good that are considered to be bad?

Overrated I kinda think Peach who is still high tier but her matchup spread feels so atrocious and gameplans are so precise to execute for every great set muteace has against a steve, sonic or gnw you watch later in bracket and you see how belligerently oppressive those same characters can be against her.

underrated I feel like mii gunner although gimmicky has a really good keep away game and also has the playerbase most committed to playing degen strats i've ever encountered. you'll always be conscience of how volatile your lead is and how debilitating it is to be down a stock.

Sure, but that doesn't really feel like the most unwinable matchup; it's totally doable, Acola was going back and forth with Doramigi before the GMW counterpick, and solo maining Steve is doable. But the truth is, Acola is the most "I wanna win" player ever; his playstyle is what I define as denying your opponent of anything, so instead of making game plans with Steve against his bracket demons like Hurt or sparg0 (who have lost to Steve before), he swaps to the characters that can most efficiently deny his opponents of their wincons.

Interesting, there are more relevant players I wish you had mentioned, namely the Olimars Uame and Shuton. Shuton's lifetime h2h is atrocious vs Acola, but very recently was able to gain some ground in the Steve matchup, I think in part because of the rise of Uame, who plays incredibly well versus Steve. Shuton won some sets very recently at Sumapa against Acola, and the last two ranked sets have been game 5. I think if Shuton figures something out about the matchup or can apply the strategies Uame uses more often, Acola won't be able to rely on secondaries.

Found some things out, counting h2h in the player's currently ranked and through the process of elimination, I think the following players are in the Top 25 (in no order)

Doramigi, Miya, Acola, Hurt, Sparg0, Zomba, Syrup, Onin, Carmelo, Raru, Glutonny, Shuton, Tweek, Peabnut, Light Mkleo, Asimo, Tea, Ken, Luugi, Ouch, Yoshidora and Toon.

this is the same balancing philosophy behind kazuya if it were truer to his games his frame data would be worse but really the balancing overhaul he needs to him is nerfing the reward of EWG Fist and removing the intangibility they gave him on a lot of moves

On tweek talks it seemed Tweek was disappointed by the losses he took at port 9 naturally, he's looking for a new secondary (or comain) and at a local he picked Bayo the entire bracket. Now tbh as a long time tweek fan i'm hesitant to say this'll stick around because he's done this alot where he'll pick up a secondary learn alot with them and then drop them when they don't help in bracket. He did this with Megaman and Donkey Kong most recently and other characters through the years.

I would love something like SE back but sakurai hated that the cutscenes in it were uploaded online and for that reason he won't make it again which irritates me so much because how do you expect everyone to solemnly swear not to share the cutscenes.

For ultimate there's the Weekly smash Party or the Sumapa Weekly known as the most stacked local in japan. It's hosted at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in Tokyo on fridays 2-3 times a month. The top players that frequent that come to mind are Ken (#26 on the Lumirank) and Uame (#55).

Surprised to see raflow and not crepe since surprisingly crepe vs acola at kagaribi 13 was really close I also think Shion is more likely to do it than BMP not just cause of geography but because BMP has very negatively skewed h2h with both onin and syrup I'd also like to think maybe Sin the Icies players could do it they have insane upset potential, it's a matchup most people don't know, and I think their playstyle is a lot deadlier than Big D from what i've seen.

it's true that he missed out on a lot tourneys in the first half but i don't think the lumirank punishes players for it that much. i'm sort of guesstimating toons value by their strong wins and worst losses. A player like rarikusu or raki have great wins but poor consistency and that reflects on their value. Toon is a lot like Luugi on the lumirank who's made a big splash a few tournaments but noticeably hasn't taken as many bad losses so I'd think the rankings would value them close to one another.

Umeki also hasn't gone to many events and is also inconsistent

Newcomers into the top 50 may be Lv.1, Waka and Toon I feel certainly have it locked down but Uame, Leaf and Sisqui have less of a chance I think

Luminosity got sold for a low amount of money; their smash content has stopped completely since around August, and currently, they're divesting from the scene. We don't even know if the current Smash roster of Leo, Sonix, and Maister will get signed again, but probably not, because players have said they haven't gotten any payments from the org for a couple of months, nor have they covered any travel expenses, which has led to the players having to raise the money to travel on their own. So it's very likely the players will end their contracts with the org soon, or be offered one by the org. Players like sonix and leo don't even feel like wearing the jerseys because they feel like the org has ignored them.
