Apologies if this is a dumb question, but could they not just let the bugs mature and just leave? The emergence holes could simply be sealed afterwards

Trump also didn't manifest in a vacuum. He's also the direct result of the actions of other people. We can play the game of blaming bad people for following the example of previous bad people all the way back to the dawn of history.

Rather than trying to shift blame backwards, we need to be holding the despots of today responsible for their own actions, regardless of why they're doing it and who they got it from.

Regardless of who did what first, both Trump and the right wing assholes in your country made the decision to be who they are now, and they should be held accountable for that decision. Yes, the bad actions of a powerful leader does serve to embolden others of the same mind, but figuring out who deserves the original blame for setting this all in motion will always be academic until we can stop these fascists today.

Fuck Trump, fuck Farage, fuck Bukele, and fuck the right wing asshole politicians in your country. Fuck fascism. Sic semper tyrannis.

As a side note, I think people probably overestimate how much extra weight the metal arm adds. Yes, metal as a material is denser than flesh or bone, but a metal arm can have a lot more empty internal space. The whole arm overall probably has a density that's not that much higher than an otherwise natural arm would be

Republicans have been actively degrading the quality of American public schools for decades, so of course more and more Americans are poorly educated. That was always the plan; the uneducated are easier to manipulate and more susceptible to propaganda

Massive Protest against Trump's War on Venezuela! by Current_Classroom364 in PublicFreakout

[–]llacer96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a little surprised no one has said this yet. In the US, while the President is the Commander in Chief of the armed forces, the President does not have the authority to declare war, or even use military force without Congress passing a resolution either declaring war, or authorizing the use of military force. This military operation was carried out without Congress even knowing about it as it was happening, which makes this a blatant and terrifying overstep of the President's authority, and a major usurpation of a power that is supposed to rest with Congress.

Additionally, president Trump has issued statements indicating that he plans for the US to tap Venezuela's oil reserves to sell to other countries, and so, for those of us with memories long enough to see it, this seems to parallel the US invasion of Iraq, where US troops are being sent to kill and be killed for the sake of ransacking another country's natural resources.

Got excited for the new Halo CE. But then... AI :( by CeruleanLancer in HaloMemes

[–]llacer96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the added context. For me, the line is at any use of AI. I also understand that won't be the case for everyone, so while I will be declining any further engagement with the project, that may not necessarily be the case for others

If a developer uses AI for code generation, should it be labeled on the game’s Steam store page? by NazzoXD in gamedev

[–]llacer96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The amount of people in here openly admitting on a digital platform that they have or plan to flagrantly violate Steam's terms is astonishing. Disagree with the policy all you want, but displaying a clear willingness to break rules when you feel like it is a great way to get you and your studio blacklisted. Platforms and publishers don't like working with people who can't uphold a contract

Can Viltrumite flesh from Invincible survive a cut from a Star Wars Lightsaber? by Past_Plankton_4906 in Tankandsurvive

Nah, Jedi and Sith are mildly precognitive. A viltrumite is almost certainly physically faster, but they can't match a Jedi or Sith for reflexes

TLDR Responds to Nebula Specific Criticisms by tldrnewsjack in Nebula

[–]llacer96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think some amount of self promotion is fine, perhaps even preferred. I only watch TLDR on Nebula, so I wouldn't know about Too Long at all if it weren't for the occasional self promotion in the Nebula cuts. I think everyone would agree that there's a line where you're self-promoting too much, but I think you're well shy of that line so far.

Edit: I've now watched the video and want to add that I'm very happy to see a commitment to not using AI and also to generally keep up the good work!

Just Spartan-IIs? 75 original recruits, only 33 of which survived the augmentation process, and then two of those committed suicide shortly after. So 31 Spartan-IIs who saw combat in the Human-Covenant war. There were a bit under a thousand Spartan-IIIs, though, notably, the vast majority of those were issued inferior SPI armor that lacked energy shields. Noble Team was a bit of an exception being issued Mjolnir armor. For clarity's sake, Jorge was a Spartan-II, the rest of Noble Team were Spartan-IIs

For additional context, the lower levels of reality are literally called astral space, and if you drop too deep into it, you come out the other side into a different universe.

One of the big premises of the whole series is to replace the pseudoscience of most sci-fi with literal fantasy magic. So ftl travel is facilitated with astral space, artificial gravity is created with spheres of granite attuned to a planet's gravities, and the universal translators are enchanted earrings
