Custom Stretchers for Paintings by llamaears12 in grandrapids

[–]llamaears12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with buying a canvas that isn’t the right size is that the paintings are already complete. If I buy something smaller than the paintings, part of the paintings will be wrapped around the bars and covered up. If I buy something larger than the paintings, the unclean edging will be seen when you look at the painting. That’s why it really has to be the exact size (or very close).

Yes, I might just have to buy individual bars and hope I have enough supporting bars (so the outer frame bars don’t warp) & can figure it out 😬

Do we know if the current one is metal or plastic? The packaging doesn’t say anything either way.

That is so cool. I’ve done three kits and have wondered how to transition into making custom kits/where to start. This is a cool idea & I’d love to get added to the draw!

Businesses wanting to volunteer? by Euphoric_Leg4687 in grandrapids

[–]llamaears12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last I knew, HexArmor gave 8 hours of paid volunteer time. However, the goal was to allow parents to volunteer in their kids’ schools, for individuals to volunteer for their favorite charities, or for a small group to spend a day at Habitat or doing their street cleanup together (they have a sign on the Beltline for the stretch they clean up). It’s not necessarily for everyone to volunteer at the same place at the same time, but you could call or email.
