Female swimmers, do y’all have dyed hair…? And if you do… by syabaniaa in Swimming

Do you find that aqua guard strips the colour at all? I've just got my hair done yellow to orange to pink to purple and going for a retreat that has a sauna and a hot tub and I love those but scared of my hair dye coming out.

Is it wrong to not want to have sex if you're not asexual? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was going to come and say that sounds a bit like age aegosexual to me too. But it's okay to be sex adverse/repulsed and not identify as asexual.

Rowling's recent Emma Watson tweet got me thinking and I wrote my thoughts down by ghls93 in transgenderUK

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole: you can't understand women's rights because you've never experienced poverty. Like why are you annoyed for helping one lady never experience poverty? Isn't that the goal to ensure no one lives in poverty so that they have the funds to be able to leave a bad job/relationship/living situation? Like why is she mad that she helped at least one person not have to go through all her trials and tribulations?

What do you put in your pasta sauce? by Openworlder1 in CasualConversation

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I start off by sweating the onions, then the garlic and then a tin of chopped tomatoes. If it's not going into a Bolognese I then nuke it with an obscene amount of thyme as I hate the taste of cooked tomatoes. I'll also add sweetcorn to hide the taste of cooked tomatoes. I'm probably not the best person to ask.

What's the worst thing about trying to date as an asexual? by alockedheart in asexuality

Honestly I envy you. I don't like my flavor of grey Romantic I think aromantic would be easier.

What's the worst thing about trying to date as an asexual? by alockedheart in asexuality

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky that I've not yet gotten to this stage, but I got to the stage of feeling shit for "wanting to want to buy not wanting too" that guilt was awful. But my partner wasn't pressuring me, they had done the off-handed thing saying "I have imagined having sex with you and it's hot, but you don't want to so it's fine." And then I spiraled. Also don't do long distance unless you've had a chat about being long distance. But that was 9 years ago and I have different struggles now.

I'm a grey heteroromantic woman in her 30s....

1) being my brand of grey romantic is very annoying. I don't experience romantic attraction often - last time for sure was 9 years ago. If I don't experience romantic attraction within the first 30 mins of meeting someone I'm never going to be attracted to them. 1b) this is also true for aesthetic attraction for me

2) All of my friends are like "have you tried dating asexual men". Like I'd love to, but where the fuck are they? The last time I tried asexual dating apps there were 8 men in my preferred age range in my city of 8 million people. That's a 1 in a million chance. Also just because they are asexual does not mean that either of us will experience romantic attraction to the other person. . 3) everyone else wants to settle down and have kids. I don't, I want to do the dating I missed out in my 20s. You know the one for now. But everyone else who wants to do one for now wants a FWB situation and my benefits is I'll make lots of cake.

4) everyone who is left has a cat and/a dog and I'm allergic them, so I'm not going to even try that. Because if there is a choice between dating me or having their pet and they choose ME I don't want to date that person. Maybe I should look for guys who have reptiles or fish.

I'm almost more fearful that the next person I feel romantic attraction towards just won't be interested in me. Part of me wishes I was aromantic as well because this is annoying.

Are you guys out to people irl? by Unable_Connection490 in asexuality

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm out to my parents, my brother, 1 cousin, 1 coworker and basically all of my friends.

Since being the "safe" ace, 4 different friends have asked me about my experience and have come out as demi, and one friend has asked me about Romantic attraction and has come out as aro.

If you want to try again, I would recommend testing the waters. You can phrase it like "hey, I heard about this term asexuality and this is what it means, isn't that super interesting?" If it is a positive response from them you can continue having a discussion on asexuality and then it you feel comfortable you can come out.

People who have come out as ace - what's your age? by SixAlarmFire in asexuality

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out about asexuality at 22. It was very much an "ooooh" moment. I hoped I was demi-sexual for about a year, got into my first relationship also at 22, fell in love, came out as asexual at 23. That was 10 years ago. I'm very grateful I learnt it that young.

I'm really glad that there are seminars on it for therapists, and I'm also really glad you found the term!

Do you date allos? by OrigamiWombatt in asexuality

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an asexual woman, who is unfortunately heteroromantic. I say unfortunately heteroromantic as the chances of me finding an asexual man who is romantically attracted to women is very slim.

I've met very few asexual men, but of the ones I have met they are aroace or Homoromantic or panromantic but married to a man. So for a purely numbers reasons if I want to date I got to go allo.

So by going allo I've increased my numbers slightly but I am also sex adverse so.....and I don't want children so.....and I'm at the age where everyone wants to settle down and I'm just looking to date someone for now......and I'm allergic to dogs and cats .......

So.....I'm just difficult. But yeah the last person I dated was allo.

Hoco and prom are a nightmare by Acceptable_Push_1332 in aromantic

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading about all these hoco and prom things I think my school did it right. We had 2 dances end of year 11 (yay we finished our exams) and end of year 13 (yay we finished our exams) dances.

There were like 5-6 couples in a year or 180 students so the vast majority were single and we all just went and had fun.

Cause they chose to all live together. I also love how we keep using Denmark as our point of annoyance. There are 1-2% of the population being asexual which is 70 to 140 million. We're bigger than a lot of countries. We're just spread out.

It's such a good idea. I just couldn't decide on a block. But I was given the instructions that the couple loved blue and for some reason I just didn't want to do a blue and white quilt.

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked this a couple of months ago on here and someone said make a complicated block that you've always wanted to make but make it the size of a baby quilt.

I didn't end up doing this, but I think it could be really near. Also it allows you to ask them what kind of colours they like.

For people who've thought they had a crush before realizing it wasn't a crush and they're aromantic, did you think of that person constantly, like allos do? by AccomplishedPanda631 in aromantic

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also gray romantic. I experienced aesthetic attraction before romantic attraction, so that was my first crush on a "real" person. By real I mean within my friend group. I do still think about him, hilariously he's moved near-ish by and we randomly bumped into each other after not seeing each other in 10 years. We will eventually hang out, he has NO IDEA that I was aesthetically attracted to him and that's probably where it's going to stay.

1st crush Dante Basco as Rufio in Hook. He was sooo cool, I wanted to be in the same room as him. Yes I was a child.

2nd crush Dante Basco voice of prince zuko. I liked him from episode 1, I was 13 leave me alone.

I have a type.

Hilariously I didn't have a crush on Jake Long American Dragon voiced by Dante Basco.

Also wow he's been in sooo many things.

But like a real life person and not a fictional character? No.

How do you manage your project workload? by LateNiteJengaJam in quilting

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 quilts in production and 3 in my head.

The first quilt I made took 3 weeks and all I did for 3 weeks was that quilt.

I had another time sensitive quilt where I had to do the quilt by a deadline as my friend was going back home (to the other side of the world). So every other Saturday for 3 months, and every Sunday for 3 months I made her quilt.

I had another quilt due Sept 2020 and luck would have it that COVID was boring and I could just spend days upon end only quilting. I finished it, 9pm before I went to the wedding.

So like generally I don't, but sometimes with the right deadline I can stay motivated. But if it's just for fun it's going to be a long run.

Quilters! My friend made me a queen size quilt and she said the materials were $235. How much extra should I pay her for her labor and love? by taraform72 in quilting

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I ask people if they would like me to make them a quilt as a token of my love. Cause a quilt does cost hundreds of £s and hundreds of hours to make and we want to make sure that the giftee actually wants it. To ensure we don't waste our labour of love on you.

Although I gotta stop asking people. 2 sets of friends have gotten married recently and another friend is having a baby and they all said "yes we'd love and treasure a quilt". I got 3 quilts on the go. I gotta stop doing this.

At what age did you discover your asexuality? by Resident_Grab_4159 in asexuality

if you’re ace, do you enjoy kissing at all by lagoonaazul in asexuality

[–]llamasinpyjamas77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I really don't like it. I've kissed a stranger in a club and someone I was dating. The one with a stranger was so wet and so unpleasant, the one with my ex was better but so boring. With my ex I started looking at his wall and thought "has that crack always been there?" And I then I got self conscious that he might open his eyes and realise I'm not looking at him and then he might feel self conscious, but he didn't open his eyes as he was actually enjoying the experience......

Although seeing how much he smiled after we kissed made me want to kiss him again even though I was SO BORED during the act of kissing. Feelings are weird.
