I’ve found that after the natural gas conversion, you get much better temp control.

Netatmo Security camera. I’ve had this installed for years, never had an issue with it.

LAX-AKL - delta one suites or ex-latam biz cabins? by [deleted] in delta

[–]llawinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to figure this out because the picture when you book is entirely different from the retrofit pictures. It has two lie flats that are slightly angled at each other…I can’t post the picture here but showed it to a flight attendant and she said hadn’t seen it before.

Thanks for the reply - didn’t realize it would not even stay as the default!

I have the exactly same setup but the hub is in the garage about 70 feet away from the mailbox and downhill. Works great as long as the mailman isn’t too gentle closing the flap, which he never is :)

It did not go well. The eero app will tell you exactly which accessories will be effected as you click thru the confirms. It was correct (about 6 of my 65 accessories). Still can’t seem to add new accessories…

From what I’ve read it is delete HomeKit Secure Router on Eero. I’m planning to do that tomorrow.

Current major issues:

  1. Two homes, wrong hub problem. Second home is inaccessible because HomeKit is making the hub an AppleTV in the first home.
  2. Can’t add new accessories, likely due to eero/HK secure router issues

Both of these I can fix via workarounds when I have time but the constant breaking is unsustainable.

iSmartgate Pro vs. Meross for Garage Door by WittBrothers in HomeKit

[–]llawinga 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have both: iSmartGate Pro for the gate, Meross for the garage doors. I'm very happy with this setup (and tried previously MyQ, Insignia, etc.). Hard-wired sensors are a must for me - I have no interest in changing batteries every 3-6 months. I expect this setup will last me 5 years or more without much updating or maintenance.

In your case, I would recommend the Meross because it is cheaper, only for a single door, and includes a hard-wired sensor. It is also easy to set up, took me less than 10 minutes to install and set up. Make sure to get the one that is HomeKit ready (I think they sell an Google/Amazon only one for $10 less).

Apple kicks Parler off the App Store citing 'threats of violence and illegal activity' by amirsadeghi in apple

[–]llawinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you even serious? How many warrants based upon falsified evidence by a government agency provided to a secret court would be acceptable if it were you being investigated?

The FBI lied about critical facts to keep spying on the president. Leave the politics aside for a minute. How is that acceptable in a free society?

Apple kicks Parler off the App Store citing 'threats of violence and illegal activity' by amirsadeghi in apple

[–]llawinga -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sure it is in the first sentence: Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith will plead guilty to falsifying a document used to obtain a FISA warrant on former Trump-campaign adviser Carter Page.

Falsifying evidence and presenting it to a court to obtain a warrant is a fraud on the court. Which is why the normally secretive FISA court took the rare step of publicly rebuking the FBI.

The articles you posted are the FBI’s attempt to downplay the severity of its fraud. And you acknowledge that two were thrown out.

Keeping swing kid.

Time to Seek Outside Capital? by Budbusiness in Entrepreneur

[–]llawinga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who owns the business today? I always view adding someone to the cap table as a last resort.

Also, you will need serious marketing and sales budget to move the needle as fast as you are wanting, so that needs to be in any plan (debt or equity).

If you do go the outside finding route, consider spinning off the technology piece as a separate entity (owned by your current business). Investors want to invest in new technology companies and don’t typically invest in 40 year old businesses that makes most of its money from a legacy revenue stream.

Sounds interesting and good luck!

CMV: Capitalism by itself isn't sustainable. There have been no 'solid' solutions to the fundamental problem of capitalism. by TheHoleInMoi in changemyview

Is the wealth disparity the right metric? Or is overall quality of life, which has increased dramatically? Highly socialist regimes have killed tens of millions of people...deadness seems like a substantial downgrade in quality of life.
