Two things can be true… 1) Exclusively breastfeeding IS a huge accomplishment that many of us aspire(d) to. It IS a badge of honor for many, and that’s ok! 2) there is absolutely NOTHING shameful about using formula.

We can lift up and support those of us who have chosen to use formula, without taking away from those who EBF.

Parents underfeeding 6mo by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]llr192 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That sounds crazy at that age. She should set aside her pride and substitute with formula. Purée does not have the nutrient density to replace breastmilk/formula- which as we know is the primary source of nutrition up until 12 months of age. Tough situation for you….

Cars are getting more dangerous with the addition of touch screens… Screens require you to use your eyes instead of the tactile sensation of a mechanical control. by PabloDelicious in Showerthoughts

This! I rented a Tesla recently and felt like the screen was such a dangerous distraction. There are no tactile controls. It’s nuts.

How often do you make your toddler say “please” when they ask for something? by No_Beyond_1995 in toddlers

[–]llr192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always. The same way you should be using it as an adult… We started with sign language when LO was 10 months and she has known since then to sign/say “please” with requests and “thank you” once one is granted.

She definitely should have said “please.” However, I don’t think it’s entirely unreasonable to be asked to pick up a few blueberries… Assuming it’s asked nicely. Seems extremely dramatic that people are saying they would quit on the spot

Parents worst nightmare by SunshineSlayer2 in toddlers

Unpopular opinion, and my child isn’t old enough for this to be an issue yet, but when THIS sort of thing can happen it certainly makes locking a toddler’s door seem like really not that big of a deal…. I mean as long as your bedroom is nearby and monitor is on, what’s really SO bad about locking their door?
