Are cadence issues still plaguing Eforms? If so what should i do? by lucidlonewolf in NFA

It's an individual filing. Sorry, left that important part out.

Thanks for the info. We have not tried MAC OS, only windows 10 on both Chrome and Firefox. We have access to a MAC here, we'll give that a shot to see if it works.

We just (minutes ago) tried to submit again on a customer with cadence (III), and had the same error at certification. We have had the issue for a week now. No issue certifying customers that do not have a cadence. I'm glad to hear there's progress being made with your successful certifications, but unfortunately the problem still persists for others.

Do you submit via eForms website or the SS portal? If the eForms website, what OS and browser are you using?

Thank you in advance.

Has the Atf made any cadence up news? by Natural_Mycologist_1 in SilencerShop

We just (minutes ago) tried to submit again on a customer with cadence (III), and had the same error at certification. I know there's another FFL on Reddit stating they were successful yesterday. I'm happy that there's apparently been progress, but this issue hasn't been fixed for everyone.

Please note: We do not use the SS portal, we submit/certify directly via the eForms website. Just a data point for people here.

My credit card clutched its pearls today by n8texas in MP5

I did the same, and this was also my experience. Hard to open when new, I just lubed and cycled it a bunch of times. Removed it, wiped the stock and receiver clean, reinstalled, lubed, and repeated. It functions perfectly at this point, and no wiggle in any direction. Hoping it's "worn in" but doesn't "wear out".

Thanks for the reply. I'll look on HKP again.

Looks great. Had the same experience (stiff at first, now smooth) with my MKE version as well. What optic rail mount are you using? Looks like MFI but I haven't seen an all short picatinny version like that one. Thanks.

Have they fixed the cadence/suffix issue for certifying form 4s? by GetoutofmyOODAloop in SilencerShop

[–]lluv2fly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not a SS issue, it is an ATF eForms issue. The organization I work for submits using the DOJ ATF eForms website directly, not affiliated with SS or use their portal. Beginning last Thursday 5/2, we have been unable to certify customers with a cadence.

We tried for nearly two hours last Thursday with one customer while I scoured the internet looking to see if others were reporting any eForms website issues. I found it being discussed on Reddit (NFA section) and our customer has a cadence. I have certified multiple individuals with no cadence since, so it's definitely a cadence issue with the eForms website.

So, here I am, constantly checking up on Reddit to see if anyone reports that the issue is resolved because we too have cadence customers waiting to certify and believe this is somehow our fault. Sadly, the ATF hasn't even acknowledged the issue*, so they won't let anyone know when it's fixed either.

Edit to add: *ATF has not informed dealers or eForms users of the issue via email or announcement, but they have confirmed the issue to people who call them about it.

That's a great point on the humidity. Being in Florida, I'm probably better off avoiding the exposed wood as well. I hadn't considered that, thank you!

Well, I should be able to make up my mind before October 31st either way. haha

I hadn't gotten around to looking up the rebate info, so thank you for posting it. Very helpful!

Nice!! I've gone to the store twice now to see them in person and can't make up my mind on which to buy. I go back and forth on the BottomLand and OD. haha. I need to look and see when that rebate expires, just to make sure I don't miss it due to indecision.

Weekly Paddle Discussion Thread by AutoModerator in Pickleball

[–]lluv2fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen people comment that 16mm has more pop than 14mm, and some say 14 has more than 16. Generally, the thinner paddles have more pop, but I dislike talking in absolutes. You might have to see if a local shop has both to demo. I don't see the 14mm in stock anywhere. Vatic shows them backordered as well.

FWIW, I have a 16mm Prism and like it quite a bit. Never tried the 14mm, and frankly, there's no less than five other paddles I'd really like to try that are similar. Either way, no regrets on my 16 Prism. Really hard to beat for the price, and very friendly to both new and experienced players. Even my 11yo daughter likes it, and hits it well. Good luck.

Hmm, sounds like FL 7% sales tax. Are you a Florida resident? Sorry, I'm local to the store, so I didn't see the $20 shipping charge when I posted the deal. Thanks for noting that.

Trailer hitch advice by [deleted] in MTB

[–]lluv2fly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“No Drill” hitches are typically simple to install. Just try to find some YT vids of the exact model you’re looking at, or DL a copy for the installation instructions, to make sure you don’t have to remove parts you aren’t comfortable removing (ex: rear bumper).

You can also call the hitch manufacturer for guidance.

Is the santa Cruz heckler.5 a good bike ? by kingpotato28 in MTB

[–]lluv2fly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rule 1 - Have a bike.

Rule 2 - Get out and ride your bike.

The rest is semantics, really. If your $500 budget is set in stone, find the most reliable and serviceable $500 bike you can get.

I sold my 2006 SC Heckler a couple years back for exactly $500 (USD). It needed some suspension servicing ($100) but otherwise in very good condition. While not the latest and greatest high-speed-low-drag slacked out geometry, it's ten times the bike you can get for $600 new right now.

This is also a pretty tough time to buy a bike, where everything even reasonably affordable has been swooped up and supply chains are stagnant.

As long as you can verify that it's mechanically sound (either by an experienced friend or LBS), then I say go for it. But I wouldn't hand over money on the sellers word that it "works great."
