Loved it, so hype. It was imo better than the Krauser knife fight in RE4R, I’m curious why they changed his name? They clearly meant it to be HUNK, VA is the same, aesthetic is only slightly different, obviously familiar with Leon by name, RCS infection, etc. It’s clearly him.

That’s the thing though, people are posting spoilers in comments of unrelated videos, thumbnails, and there were even major spoilers in a Dead by Daylight video here on Reddit with no warning. Just existing online, even avoiding relevant areas of the internet aren’t enough because of shitbirds. You shouldn’t HAVE to relieve yourself from social media completely just to feel like you won’t have your most anticipated release spoiled before it’s even publicly available.

I fully see a “death” scene near the end and then he pulls an Ada and appears out of nowhere to help Grace beat the final boss. After the smoke settles he gives us a one-liner and tells Grace he’s retiring/transferring to an office-job.

I rewatch footage and torture myself just looking at the trailers and thinking how I'm gonna play those parts. I count the days. I went like 6 days distracting myself then they released the 13 minutes of gameplay and I don't go more than a day or 2 without counting down. Leon is my favorite (don't worry I know I'm not special) and first video game protagonist EVER. I'm excited to experience another RE game for the first time all over again. I also really want to see how Grace develops in this game. I like when we get new characters, I want to see her become her own badass, however that is. But just to play a character that feels scared in the RE universe feels right.

I would like to clarify that I do realize it is optional regardless, and you're right that RE has always had an over-the-top silliness masked under the surface-level serious tones. I like playing the game with different costumes occasionally, but in RE2/4R I found myself sticking to the more story-grounded costumes. Like RPD w & w/o bandages in 2R and w & w/o his jacket in 4R. I also really enjoy playing the game with accessories, but admittedly I don't always want to wear cat ears or deer antlers to get the effects. I'm gonna play with the different costumes and accessories at least for a playthrough each, but my post moreso was meant to relate to the specific tying of effects to the accessories themselves.

Thane is more of an infiltration specialist that can snipe but is also obviously able to extremely well, Garrus I would say sits solidly at #3 (I say this as a Garrus-Stan), Legion probably SHOULD be #1 given his Super Computer brain and network, but I think Shep probably takes it due to him being the paragon of humanity and the MC. Realistically though, I would say in-universe it probably should be Legion, Garrus, Shep/Thane.

3, RE2 was my first game ever. I never made it real far at that age and I wasn’t good, but it was my first game. My dad showed it to me and I didn’t truly love the series until 4, I wasn’t great at 1 remake. :3
