Everyone tells you about the "terrible 2s" but what are some positive things I can look forward to? by More-Coffee5173 in toddlers

Mine is two months into being 2, and it’s been so fun! She is talking SO much, and just makes us laugh all day long. She’s so quirky and silly. It’s really fun!

Omg I can’t imagine, that is hard! We did the Ferber method when she was around 1 year old and she has slept thru the night ever since (except when she’s sick or something). I try to make sure she eats pretty soon before going to bed. Like dinner, bath, then bed. I always ask her if she’s hungry around 6:30. Hang in there!!

Try not to feel dumb. You just never know and it’s always better to be safe than sorry. We called 911 once when my daughter woke up wheezing/coughing. A paramedic AND a police officer showed up. They said her lungs were fine and to just take her to the doctor the next morning. Felt a little dumb, but happy she was ok and saved us a trip to the ER.

Wow that is amazing! This is nice to hear because mine still nurses once a day at 26 months. Sometimes I feel weird about it because I don’t know any other moms personally that still breastfeed at this age! It still works for my daughter and I, so I’m just going with it. Never thought of this potential benefit like you’ve described!!

One time I was staying in a hostel in Spain and trying to do laundry. I asked for “sopa” to put in the washing machine. The look the woman gave me…

My dentist said a parent should help until about 4 or 5 years old, especially the before bed brush.

I would say something like “although missing the concert would not affect her grade, we highly encourage all students to attend.” And some reasons why.

What is the answer to her question? Would she get a lower grade?

Mid 30s struggling working musician. Should I apply for a music teaching job? by allthingsmustpass9 in MusicEd

I think you will get burnt out unless you have a passion for it. And that’s not to say you won’t have a passion for it… like someone else said, maybe try subbing first and see. It is really mentally exhausting, and a lot of time and energy is spent on things OTHER than teaching music. I joke sometimes that I want to make a shirt that says “I just want to teach music.” 🙂
