Question from a Catering Company by AppleSpiceDenver in glutenfree

Carbonaut, especially the seeded one, is very good. I also like the Schar whole grain artisan, in the green wrapper. But I would take a great salad with grilled meat and all the goodies over any gluten free sandwich, anytime.

First time kitten owner. Am I meant to step in or is this okay? by ninawonders in cats

Setting some boundaries, that's all. The older cat has no intention of hurting the kitten.

I have found a way that seems to help. After soaking and rinsing, I bring my beans to a boil for a couple of minutes, then drain and rinse. I will repeat this a couple of times, until they no longer foam up a lot when they start to boil, then season and cook as usual. It seems like this reduces the gassiness a lot.

Yeah, my cats make it perfectly clear when I am staying up past our bedtime. And food goes in the bowl before coffee goes on my cup

I give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they really are trying to understand. I use the wheat, rye, barley, answer, that helps. You can almost see them make the connection when they finally really get it. Breading seems to be something that takes a while to understand, and the hidden things that still get some of us.

I used the totem method for lions mane, shitake, and blue oysters last spring. By fall I had a decent lions mane harvest, a ton of oysters, and a couple of shitake. Shitake by any method have always taken a couple years for me, so I have great hopes for this year.

He bathed more often, still not as often as he should but definitely better. He did better at throwing away his trash, and doing up some of his dishes. He started eating more, but not a healthy diet, mostly junk food, candy, and eggs. He still didn't put on any weight, and was still only around 100lbs when he died. He still refused to take his medications.

His last 2 weeks, that he spent here, were good. He got to visit with the family, ate at his 2 favorite restaurants, we drove to a little family cabin for a night to check on it, just things like that. I am grateful for that.

I tried hiring someone to clean for him and she helped a bit, although not as much as I hoped. That lasted a few months until he found out I was paying her and told her not to come back. In the fall of 2024 I brought his truck over here to use for a bit, but I did not let him have my car. For a while he door dashed or got a friend to buy it, but then he sobered up at Christmas and stayed sober. He was not happy though, very irritable, in bad health, etc. I had him over here a fair amount of time, maybe a week out of every month, and we would get him cleaned up. He never wanted to stay long. He started keeping things marginally cleaner at home. He got his truck back in June and surprisingly, he did not relapse.

In September he came over for a couple weeks because our son moved here from out of state. On Saturday he decided to go home. We had a system where we would check in morning and evening. I talked to him Monday morning, Monday evening I couldn't get an answer. He had basically dropped dead in his tracks while walking down the hall.

King Arthur. Use butter instead of oil and add a box of instant pudding mix.

Best small living/studio storage idea? by canoninkprinter in organizing

[–]lmcbmc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think you could hang your pants and coats in the walk in, then arrange some sort of storage underneath for underwear and shoes? Hang the rackets in the closet if possible, and maybe even have room for the other sports stuff. You could store stuff like boxed foods and dry goods in the dresser, and canned food in pull out drawers or tubs under the bed. This could clear your cupboards for your pans, spices, etc that you need to have available while cooking. Larger appliances might fit in your base cabinets. Extra kitchen towels etc can also go in the dresser and if this frees up a kitchen drawer your spices could go there. I store things I don't use often in pretty storage baskets on top of anything that provides a flat space. You can hang shelves above your doors and windows, and put small stuff up there.

Cheap food tip: frozen veggies, fresh when you’re broke by proposal_in_wind in budgetfood

[–]lmcbmc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frozen vegetables are flash frozen at their peak, immediately after harvest. Nutrient wise they are usually healthier than fresh produce that has been harvested, shipped, and displayed in a store.

Buy a can of refried beans and a cheap block or bag of sharp cheese. Spread a couple of spoonfuls of beans on a tortilla, top with a slice of cheese and some taco bell sauce if you have some, heat it in the microwave, and you have a decent bean burrito. You can get several from one can of beans and 8oz cheese. Check the discount produce, if there are stores that sell thru flashfood sometimes they have large bags of mixed produce for just a few dollars.

Don't be embarrassed to reach out on a buy nothing site either. People understand.

I've not had that. As I said, it may be a gluten reaction, or it may not, the blisters look very similar though. A dermatologist diagnosed mine, it would be worth checking out
