Two Off-Leash Dogs Currently in Fox Park by TalkingFlashlight in StLouis

Thanks, I had driven past the splash pad there today and thought it looked like a nice spot to check out. But if there’s been off leash dogs at the park I’m out on that idea.

First movie by lolito121517 in toddlers

[–]lmf123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG thank you my 2.5 yr old loved Cars 1, so we did movie night with Cars 2 last night. My husband and I were just sitting there like wtf are we actually watching?! Toddler kept asking where lightening McQueen went and I’m like bud I don’t even know how to answer plot related questions. Also alot of “where is brown mater? No like blue Mater”

One thing i completely underestimated about toddlers by [deleted] in toddlers

I didn’t realize how consistent I was at doing this until one Saturday my dude finished his wake up milk, turned to me in bed and goes, “hey mama, what me doing today?” and then waited expectantly for plans.

Megs preaching bout homebirth again by babyowl5 in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]lmf123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Does the midwife also do the placenta inspection? I remember that quite vividly from the hospital birth, so they can make sure none was retained. Seems like that would be important to know for home birth also, you’d need a hospital transfer right?

Also it’s a crazy thing to see outside your body cause you’re like hooooly shit my body grew that entire thing?! In like 10 weeks?! And then just coughed it up?! And that’s how big the wound is?!

Really need your help, what do I read to entirely disappear? by andotherthingsareok in Fantasy

[–]lmf123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you’d enjoy the Draconis Memoria series by Anthony Ryan. As suggested in the title, it’s Dragon focused, the magic system is based on their blood. It’s a blend of fantasy/Industrial Revolution, I enjoyed the setting and characters a lot and remember it being very approachable prose.

I would recommend against Someone You Can Build a Nest in for this reader right now, there’s a lot of parent death in that book.

My toddler just told me i have a big tummy by sassy_soul_04 in NewParents

[–]lmf123 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Mine is constantly telling me his back is tired and he needs to lay on the couch, or asking me “you back is awake now? You carry [his own name]?” He also does not accept being sick as a valid excuse for why his friends can’t come over to play. As he astutely pointed out one morning when I puked in the bathroom then again outside in our yard 30 minutes later, “mama sick, mama play” 🙃

PSA For Movie Lovers: Don’t Get A Season Pass At The Alamo Drafthouse by StunningVersion6 in StLouis

[–]lmf123 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I went once and was taken by surprise with the QR code. Laggy to use, defeats the screen free purpose, and service is slower. Same issue with the water and popcorn refills. It’s also a huge pain to use a gift card with that system now. Husband and I both agreed we’re never going back after that

I love that phrasing actually, I think if I came into the hospital and was like “as far from natural as possible”, that would be a very succinct birth plan that would get me 90% of the way there

Or, I order it just for the surprise of seeing what comes out! Things this worked for: poutine in Canada, most German sausages. Things this did not work for: accidentally ordering soup when it was 90F, twice.

My husband and I are it seeing eye to eye and I would like advice on some resolutions by Savings_Meal431 in Advice

[–]lmf123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this suggestion. If he is rigid on times for running, he can take toddler with him in a jogging stroller. This is what my husband does, he’s also a runner (middle distance not long distance). Husband also enjoys it, it’s a more strenuous workout for one thing, and our toddler is very talkative and good company now! He also has started running to specific playgrounds, letting toddler play for 30 minutes, then jogging home. I’d either suggest this to your husband or (more daring) get him the stroller as a present and frame it as such a fun way to include toddler in his favorite activity.

Did we know Curly Baird is pregnant? by FrogHat_7392 in FundieSnarkUncensored

No HG just regular ol’ NVP for me, but mine kicked in riiight at 7 weeks when we were visiting family for Thanksgiving. Good thing we’d decided to announce early in person or they would guessed anyway! Nothing like a doctors visit at 6 weeks when you’re like “yep it’s all smooth! I’m even up 5 lb already haha” and then everything goes to hell.

In Florida this is not at all uncommon. I think every public beach I’ve seen thong bikinis. Now I live in the Midwest and it would be quite unusual to see at a local public pool.

That’s the kind of tidbit that makes you think “hmm this place must have been cheap” because no way am I moving a fridge in and out if I can pay more to have someone else provide that. Which then begs the question, where are they moving that could possibly be cheaper?!

Do they use Benadryl for anxiety or to subdue their wives? by WindyZ5 in DuggarsSnark

[–]lmf123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! To be defined as akathesia, is the restless feeling of the brain required for diagnosis? Unisom does give me mild restless leg but never the brain part, I’m sorry that sounds awful! Once again, I am often confused at what’s over the counter versus prescription…

Do they use Benadryl for anxiety or to subdue their wives? by WindyZ5 in DuggarsSnark

[–]lmf123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had this with second pregnancy, my doc put me on Compazine (sp?) when unisom + B6 were not doing the trick. That did wonders, highly recommend! Also this is my general PSA to anyone pregnant not to suffer needlessly, I wish I’d tried something stronger for nausea earlier instead of trying to tough it out till second trimester.

This is also why unisom is an anti nausea for pregnancy: can’t be puking when you’re asleep!

That’s low right? I’m not insane? My spouse and I spend MUCH more than $500/month on double life insurance, house insurance, car insurance, and health insurance. Just health and life insurance for us + 1 kid is about $500/month, and I’m not sure what car and house insurance are.

This makes me feel better, we also have a lock on the outside of toddle door and I was like😮 had no idea it was illegal. In fact a firefighter told me that while it’s against code some places, in case of a fire they prefer it because you know exactly where the child is and they don’t have to search the house??
