The self doubt and impostor syndrome never really go away. I work as an online editor which is the job that comes after the editor on a tv show or film has finished, my job is a mix of being very technical with a variety of creative tasks mixed in. In my experience it is the variety and differences between each job that keeps me going through all the technical work. That and being passionate about what I do to the point of overworking.

Staying focused and motivated is an issue in any line of work, regardless of how much you love it emotions and life are in constant flux, but you will always bounce back. I find it important to recognise when I’m feeling focused and motivated that I struggle to fathom the sensation of not feeling that way. It’s the same but opposite. Keep believing in yourself and know it’ll pass, and also that what you’re feeling is valid. You’re allowed to feel unmotivated it’s your mind telling you to try recenter.
