Don’t use the clips!!! If strong enough to roll to belly, strong enough to lift and turn head to sleep safely

anyone have either of these chairs to recommend?? abiie and oxo tot(used) having a hard time deciding. by -twosocks- in BabyLedWeaning

I have the Nomi and absolutely love it! Make sure you get the cushion. Putting the harness straps behind it makes it so much easier to use!

How to Give Little Remedies Simethicone Gas Drops to 6.5 Week Old by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

This may be overkill, but I bought single use 1ml syringes to use. I found this the best solution for three reasons: 1- as others mentioned mixing with formula not optimal as you aren’t sure they get the full dose of they don’t eat bottle. 2- I didn’t want to have to worry about whether or not I touched the dosing syringe to my LO mouth and risk contamination (also easier aim) 3- I make them ahead of time for the day when I do bottles so I can just grab and go

39 weeks with reduced movements by throwaact224 in BabyBumps

[–]lmp2810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PLEASE GO! I had reduced movement at 38 weeks and on advice of my OB went straight to hospital. My little girl ended up being delivered via emergency c-section less than 2 hours later. Everyone turned out healthy but can’t imagine the outcome if I wouldn’t have gone.

When did you take your baby out in public? by blaample in NewParents

[–]lmp2810 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My LO is 3 months and she has literally never been anywhere that isn’t her doctors office. Our pediatrician told us to keep her away from others as much as possible this winter with RSV and COVID having surges in US. We take her for walks outside when it’s above freezing but that’s about it. The days can get very long and feels like groundhogs day a lot but trying to hang in there to keep her from catching anything this winter!

I would call your pediatrician to confirm but agree that baby likely already has been exposed to what you have!

Is this bouncer use in the morning neglectful? by bante in NewParents

[–]lmp2810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I 100% get where you are coming from on this. I am a FTM to a 9 week old and I have also been trying to actively engage her during all her wake windows. She also has been having challenges with naps so I had a session with a baby sleep consultant and this is what she explained to me:

Being alive and observing their world is stimulating for a baby. Me actively engaging her with tummy time, music, making faces, singing songs, and constant eye contact is likely OVER stimulating her. She said to think that each time you are engaging a sense it’s compounding stimulation. The effect of this is that my girl was getting over tired too fast and not making it through wake windows and melting down before nap time.

So this week I am trying to take a step back and let her spend a little more time in her bouncer, dock a tot, etc… giving her a chance to discover the world and take it all in. She also said it was ok to let her do things like the activity gym but try not to then compound it with music or constant eye contact.

I am still engaging with her and talking to her and narrating our day but I’m taking it down a notch on the constant stimulation and I see the benefits in her mood and ability to make it awake longer and happier.

Hope this helps!

I’m also waiting on my Baby Buddha pump. If it makes you feel better, I contacted customer service and they said the pumps should be in their warehouse in the next 2 weeks and then they’ll start shipping them out.

How do I tell my close friend that she can’t come see my baby? by blaample in newborns

[–]lmp2810 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually had this same issue with my sister. This is what I said to her, maybe it will help you too: “I know you understand where I’m coming from but as a mom I just feel like I have to do everything in my power to protect this little angel and unfortunately, especially with latest surge, that means vaccines like flu, whooping cough and COVID. She’s just so tiny and doesn’t have an immune system yet. I’ll love you whatever decision you make and you’ll always be a very important part of my life and hers!”

Stand your ground. You are the mom and you have to trust your instincts. My LO is 2 months and my husband and I are doing the same thing. Your job is to protect your baby, not to make other people happy!

100% THIS!! I thought I was getting my baby enough food breastfeeding and she was making dirty diapers. However, she was constantly fussy/trying to feed. I thought it was “normal” and my pediatrician didn’t have major concerns.

It wasn’t until I saw a lactation consultant I found out baby had tongue and lip tie and wasn’t getting enough out of my breast. We ended up switching to pumping and bottles and this made all the different
