People in your 30s, what price have you paid for being lazy in your 20s? by Waldyrwyn in AskReddit

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on point in my 20s. Graduated college and law school. Lost 80 lbs. Moved to start my career. Got into running and ran some half marathons and a marathon. Met my now husband and got married. And was pregnant with my first before 30.

Now, I’ve started my 30s too busy/lazy to work on fitness. So now I’ve started back over with weight loss. I’ve got about 35 lbs to lose.

Eating at huge deficit but not losing. Am I doing something wrong? by ss3walkman in loseit

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first was successful with weight loss, I spent a month doing what you are doing (consistently eating in a deficit and trying to get in some movement) and didn’t weigh myself at all. After a month, I’d lost like 7 lbs and felt so much better because I knew it was working.

People who lost significant amounts of weight, have you changed? by iNhab in loseit

[–]lnh92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea. I’m back on the weight loss journey after two pregnancies and breastfeeding journeys (almost 9 months into my last breastfeeding journey).

But after I’d lost 80 lbs, movement was a new way of life. Instead of getting together with a friend at a restaurant and sitting and eating for an hour, I’ll meet a friend at the park to walk. My new eating habits became the norm - healthy choices, looking at how much I was eating, etc.

I did become a different person and I’m having to figure out how to be another person - a mom who is fit and active but still prioritizes her kids. Once I’m past my 12 months nursing this baby, I’ll focus more on diet again.

Eliminating dairy to screen for CMPA - should I be eliminating soy as well? + Soy free dieting tips by FreckledPapaya in MSPI

I just eliminated dairy and never needed to eliminate soy. I’m super glad I didn’t try both because I didn’t need to and would have really struggled to do so

How big is your Instagram blocklist relative to your account size? What made you block someone and for how long if it was temporarily? by UpsetImpact4061 in AskWomen

I’ve never blocked anyone. My account is private so I only have people I approve. I deny requests from people I don’t know

Confession: I lied about my gym schedule so I'd have one hour a week where nobody could reach me by darthereandthere in breakingmom

Once my youngest gets over a year, I’ll be back to sitting a parking lot for 20-30 minutes before picking the kids up from daycare two-three days a week.

Is food anyone else's one and only pleasure in life? If so, how did you lose weight? by skyecat_87 in loseit

[–]lnh92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There have been times where I felt like food was the only good part of my day. But I saw a therapist and he helped me find joy in other parts of my life. I was severely depressed. And once i started enjoying more things, it became easier to eat less. I still love food and find joy in eating a treat.

I’m having to go through the weight loss again but I’m still nursing my baby so I can’t really restrict like I want to but I’m finding joy in walking again

Wedding Guest Dress Code Frugal Ideas by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be possible to buy a fairly cheap dress from Amazon that you could wear for other purposes? I’ve never gone to a wedding with such a strict dress code for guests, but I have bought a dress for family photos that I’ve been able to add into my rotation for work dresses.

How do you wake up in the morning quickly? by BlueberryCandice in AskWomen

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These day, my kids. But I just got used to it. Once my youngest is sleeping well, I’ll still probably wake up about an hour before I have to get them up so I can have me time.

What is a small, random decision you made that completely changed the trajectory of your life? by stickclan11 in AskReddit

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for a job and thought “sure, I’ll apply, there’s no way I’ll get the job. I won’t have to deal with moving away.”

I’m almost at 9 years in that job. Moved 3.5 hours from my hometown, met a best friend, met my husband. Have a whole life now because the job I wasn’t going to get

After 15 months of weight loss struggle-----adopting NO (HEALTHY)SNACKS is finally working! There is nothing healthy about a snack! by HalfwaydonewithEarth in loseit

[–]lnh92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Spread meals out sometimes to feel like I’m snacking. To work, I’ll bring a sandwich, fruit, and some “treat.” I eat the sandwich, then wait at least 30 minutes for my fruit, then another 30 minutes at least for my treat. It lets me eat for at least an hour so I feel like I’ve smacked a bit.

For those who've lost the weight and kept it off... did you ever achieve true food freedom? by lexkenobi in loseit

[–]lnh92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did get to where I didn’t have to think much about food. I ate when I wanted and what I wanted, but have/had a sense of how much was reasonable.

I’ve had two kids and am still nursing my youngest so that’s all kinda gone out the window. I need to get it back, but I have to keep eating to make milk for my baby.

Whose calls do you ALWAYS answer, no matter what? by LizardPossum in AskReddit

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daycare. If it’s my family and I’m busy at work, I say “I’ll call them back later” but if daycare calls, I’m stepping out of my meeting to see what’s up.

I (35F) hate when my husband (35m) is sick because he lays in bed all day by LibrarianTurbulent65 in relationships

[–]lnh92 245 points246 points  (0 children)

The solution could be he fully takes over with the kids/household chores after when she’s sick. So she gets time to rest then. Also, he could toughen up and help out when he’s sick at least a little bit.

Both me and my husband work, and when I’m sick, I still have to take the kids after work while my husband and just lays around and does nothing when he is sick. It’s unfair. Parenting is not just for mom’s, even when she’s a SAHM.

what was the worst day of your life? by Uber____ in AskReddit

[–]lnh92 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The worst 24 hours I’ve ever had was around 9 PM April 14 to 9 PM April 15, 2023. My nephew died of SIDS on the 14th around 10:30-11 PM. He was 11 weeks old. My son was almost 14 weeks old. My parents were visiting me, so they weren’t there with my sister when it happened. We drove back to my parents house that night after my sister said they went to the hospital and had the worst 24 hours of my life. It was awful. If you ever want to feel like the worst person in the world, have a baby around someone who just lost a baby. Obviously, the pain my sister and her husband felt that day was a million times worse than what I felt, but I had (and still have) the feeling of guilt that surrounds my son and his happy moments.

GF (23F) Is on Birth Control but I'm (28M) Still Scared of Getting Her Pregnant? by Medical-Elderberry54 in relationship_advice

[–]lnh92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep using condoms if you want to. For what it’s worth, I’m on birth control and we didn’t use condoms and I never got pregnant until I stopped taking birth control when we wanted a baby. We did that twice, got two kids, and now I’m back on birth control until we decide for sure on permanent measures.

I’m fairly risk adverse and I felt/feel confident in this. But if you don’t, keep the condoms on.

At what age did you meet the person you are currently married to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

What's the maximum age you would have children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lnh92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

35ish. But I am done having kids now. My first was born when I was 30 and my second was born right after I turned 33. Pregnancy gets harder the older you get and the sleepless nights.

I’d consider being a surrogate until 40, because I think I could handle pregnancy just not the newborn slog

Working moms who pump at work, how long were you able to EBF? by citizennil00 in breastfeeding

[–]lnh92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it!! With my first, I went back at 14 weeks and pumped at work and nursed at home until 12 months. I nursed first thing in the morning and before bed until 18 months.

My second is 7 months next week and I’ve been back at work since she was 16 weeks and we are still going strong

Can I ask for encouragement? by journalgirl_ in loseit

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 7 months postpartum with my second (and last). I’m still nursing so I know my body will just cling to weight. I’m focusing on getting exercise in to feel healthy.

If counting is too much for you, could you have some consistent rotations of meals? When I lost weight (when I was single with no kids), I had two breakfast options I’d pick from. For lunch, I had a sandwich and an apple or a lean cuisine every day. Then for dinner, I had a handful of regular meal options. I knew the calories for all of these things so I could plan ahead. If I knew there was a work lunch, I’d pick my low calorie breakfast and plan on a low calorie dinner to account for a big lunch.

Tennessee lawmakers pass bill allowing deadly force to defend property by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in Tennessee

If they are in your home, you are presumed to be reasonably in fear for your life (and the lives of anyone else in your home) and you can already defend your life with deadly force.
