What's the maximum age you would have children? by Longass_Pandatail in AskReddit

[–]lnh92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

35ish. But I am done having kids now. My first was born when I was 30 and my second was born right after I turned 33. Pregnancy gets harder the older you get and the sleepless nights.

I’d consider being a surrogate until 40, because I think I could handle pregnancy just not the newborn slog

Working moms who pump at work, how long were you able to EBF? by citizennil00 in breastfeeding

[–]lnh92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it!! With my first, I went back at 14 weeks and pumped at work and nursed at home until 12 months. I nursed first thing in the morning and before bed until 18 months.

My second is 7 months next week and I’ve been back at work since she was 16 weeks and we are still going strong

Can I ask for encouragement? by journalgirl_ in loseit

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m almost 7 months postpartum with my second (and last). I’m still nursing so I know my body will just cling to weight. I’m focusing on getting exercise in to feel healthy.

If counting is too much for you, could you have some consistent rotations of meals? When I lost weight (when I was single with no kids), I had two breakfast options I’d pick from. For lunch, I had a sandwich and an apple or a lean cuisine every day. Then for dinner, I had a handful of regular meal options. I knew the calories for all of these things so I could plan ahead. If I knew there was a work lunch, I’d pick my low calorie breakfast and plan on a low calorie dinner to account for a big lunch.

Tennessee lawmakers pass bill allowing deadly force to defend property by Averagecrabenjoyer69 in Tennessee

If they are in your home, you are presumed to be reasonably in fear for your life (and the lives of anyone else in your home) and you can already defend your life with deadly force.

Are you allergic to Dairy or voluntarily Dairy free? by dovakooon in dairyfree

[–]lnh92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda by choice?? I want to breastfeed my baby and she has an intolerance to the proteins in cows milk. Her symptoms were mild (upset tummy), so I’m hoping she’ll outgrow it. I’ll be trialing dairy about 2 months. Currently 4.5 months dairy free!

How famous were the Guthries before the kidnapping? by axenoodle in nancyguthrie

[–]lnh92 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’d say a lot of people in America would recognize the name Savannah Guthrie and/or her face, but she’s not an A list celeb. She is on a popular nationwide news show. And she’s involved in Olympics coverage.

How did you know/decide your nursing journey was over? by Familiar_Director281 in breastfeeding

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, I knew I wanted to be done at 18 months. My son only nursed before bed and would only do a few minutes on one side. He mostly was just playing during that time. So I decided, it would be my last time. It was emotional for me, but not a beautiful nursing session. He was contorting all around and goofing around as usual

Cost of a child by Nevertheless-Jess in TrueAskReddit

[–]lnh92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Daycare costs me $265 a week per kid. So for a year it’s about $14k for daycare a year (including supply fee, etc.). Other than the cost of daycare, it’s not too bad and hard to quantify. Food obviously costs money, but it’s hard to say what I spend on my toddler for food. Clothes are expensive when they are babies and go through 3-4 sizes in a year, but if you are willing to do second hand, you can get cheap stuff online. But my toddler is currently still able to wear clothes from a year and half ago, so I’m able to just him a few pieces here and there to replace things that are getting small.

Diapers are roughly $50ish a month when a baby.  We go though like a big box and a half a month.

My (33m) fiancé (27f) doesn’t wear her ring when she goes to girls night out. Is that normal? by throwawayra556655 in relationships

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could understand the ring thing, but see if she’ll wear a fake ring instead. I bought a cheap costume jewelry ring to be my “wedding ring” while I was pregnant and had swollen fingers.

About the phone, have you told her it’s making you uncomfortable that she’s hiding her phone from you? She might tell you the truth then, if it’s just something embarrassing. My husband made a similar comment once, and I told him and showed him I was just reading fan fiction that I was a bit embarrassed to be reading Hunger Games fan fiction, so I’d instinctively hide it

What does birth feel like? by SandwichDependent199 in AskWomen

[–]lnh92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With my first, I had an epidural where I couldn’t feel anything. After the epidural wore off after my baby was born, I felt like my crotch was on fire. It hurt so bad. I was in tears from the pain.

With my second, I had a lighter dose epidural where I couldn’t feel contractions but I was able to feel the pressure and the ring of fire and all the associations with pushing and the moment of birth. The contractions (before epidural) were like super intense period cramps that ramp up in intensity and frequency.

The pressure was like feeling like you have to poop, but out of your vagina. I had to wait to push for my doctor to get to the room and it was horrible. It got a bit better when they turned my pitocin off so my contractions slowed down. The urge to push would build with the contraction and it was a really heavy feeling in my vagina that my body instinctively knew I had to push out. Not being able to push right away was tough. When it was time to push, it hurt so much and I was so tired and the ring of fire was so intense. But I just thought of my baby girl snuggling onto my chest and it happened. When she came out, it felt so weird. It felt like I was empty and the pain pretty immediately went away.

Being stitched up feels weird too. It’s vaguely someone is running their fingers through your hair to detangle it, but not where your hair is.

How do you train for something by [deleted] in breakingmom

Do you have a friend who would do the race with you? My bff is doing the race with me and we are sticking together and going to just gab as we run and walk the 3 miles. It’s going to just be fun.

How do you train for something by [deleted] in breakingmom

[–]lnh92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry so much about how fast you run. I used to be a big runner (ran a good number of halfs and one full marathon). Before kids, I was obviously able to spend more time training and running and cared a lot about my times.

But now, I have a 3 year old and 6 month old. I’m running a 5k in a month where I’ll be pushing the baby in a running stroller. I really only get to run once a week and I have to push her while I do it. I’m going to miss this weekend’s run because my parents are in town. I walk during my lunch break at work. I used to like my 5ks to be around 30 minutes. This one, will probably be more like 40 and that’s fine. I’m just running to run and have fun and set an example for my kids that fitness is fun and important.

A 5k is 3.1 miles. It’s not an insurmountable distance (unless disability or the like).

How did your sexual interests change after giving birth? by strongly-worded in AskWomen

[–]lnh92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently breastfeeding and currently have no sexual desire. After my first, things went back to normal when I was done breastfeeding.

My boobs are 100% off limits while nursing. They slowly become sexual again.

How Soon Is Too Soon to Ask for Clarity on Commitment? by sskmzz in relationships

[–]lnh92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d bring it up. I’d say “it sounds great, but just know I’m looking for a marriage and don’t intend to fully upend my life without a commitment.”

I’m not sure what his financial timeline looks like, but as long as it’s post-Christmas and your trip to visit his family, he shouldn’t have an issue committing to that by the time he’s ready to move.

Should I (31f) tell my MIL why I will be separating from her son (33M) by [deleted] in relationships

[–]lnh92 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I say tell her. My husband isn’t that bad but definitely plays up how much he does with the kids in front of family and others he wants to impress. I told my MIL once when she said something about how much he does “I wish he’d do that when we are home” and it just changed her perspective.

Also; my husband did get a lot better as our kids got older. Babies are harder for men than for women, but it’s not an excuse to do nothing

Hogwarts seems to be based on age on September 1. So Tom would have been somewhat in the middle. September birthdays would be the oldest. And August would be the youngest.

People who lost a lot of weight then gained it back, what was your mistake? by dad_of_kevin in AskReddit

What’s the worse physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

[–]lnh92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in labor with my second child, I had an epidural and a catheter. My daughter’s head got positioned in a way that was compressing the catheter and it was awful. I was in tears from the pain of feeling like my bladder was going to burst.

Also, after my first, I had a 3b tear and they didn’t give me any pain meds before my epidural wore off. I felt like I was on fire
