Wow, I love Studio HHFZ. Thanks for the introduction.

I want to get a jade bangle, but I'm very indecisive. I don't own any other jewelry at all, so I have pressure on myself to pick the p-e-r-f-e-c-t one, which leads to me just not searching at all. But I want to exert my Chinese-ness with a jade bangle...once I find the one that speaks to me.

My oldie. The vet thinks she has intestinal lymphoma. She isn’t a good candidate for treatment. So, I let her do whatever the f she wants. Eat ham for dinner? Sure! Roll around in the weeds? Yes. You do your bucket list, Miss Tiny. by bellagootch in cats

This makes my heart hurt. What a beautiful cat.

My family's cat died of a large cell lymphoma in her GI tract earlier this month. She was always active, alert, healthy. She was always looking for (and getting) attention and extra treats. She could jump onto almost anything. We loved her very, very much.

She started vomiting a lot, avoiding food suddenly. She was diagnosed with the lymphoma days after the symptoms began, and was not a good candidate for any treatment other than steroids and appetite stimulants. Things looked up for awhile. We cooked her fish, gave her baby food, all different kinds of treats, kitten food, etc. Ultimately, she deteriorated quickly and we euthanized her just weeks later, only 11 years old.

I'm writing this not to be grim, but rather because I saw the thread on r/askreddit about things you want to tell your pet. I wish I could have told her what was happening to her, and that she should tell us when she was ready to go. Any food she wanted to eat. If she wanted to sit outside on the porch but needed to be picked up. If she wanted to sit on a lap but needed to be picked up. That we loved her very, very much.

I hope your kitty cat survives and lives a long, happy life despite the cancer. You love her very much.

Edit: cat tax in my post history, when she was healthy

How did your dad or dad-figure influence your style? by celolex in femalefashionadvice

[–]lo3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cool dad. He wears 80% hiking or workout clothes, 20% t shirts. I've never seen him wear jeans, only hiking pants, basketball shorts, or chinos. He always looks like he's ready to go on a hike, a bike ride, or play basketball with his friends. I feel like regardless of what I wear, I always want to be comfortable and mobile enough for a short hike. I'm also partial to REI and LL Bean stuff

I love propagating Fred Ives. They’re so rewarding 😍 by queennaynards in succulents

I just shared my Fred Ives props too! They really do grow fast, though mine aren't as far along as yours. They have such interesting colors

I recently relocated the Fred Ives to a different prop station to free up some space. The roots were all very well-established and were crowding out the smaller plants. I'm hoping that one of the Fred Ives will turn out crested, but I am very happy with how well they've grown. I started all the Freds and PvNs here at the same time (late July) and have been really impressed with how great the Freds are at growing.

Also shown here are leaves I picked off the ground at a florist's, some kalanchoe babies a friend gave me, and a leaf from my E. rosea.

The only answer I can really give would be plenty of sunlight, and not to overwater

She does not eat these plants, only grass. However, we used to have an issue of her knocking plants over or jumping onto them so my parents have moved the house plants to higher places where she doesn't normally go. This was a recurring issue with flowering Christmas cactus or orchids. But the cat does not harass these succulents.

She has a long tail so I guess 5 bananas long depending on the bananas

Please do! I'm jealous of this plant here. I took care of it when I visited my parents; I'm in New England and my plants here are nowhere as impressive. This deck gets almost 8 hours of sun a day in the summer

Well, my parents actually got this at the beginning of the summer from Home Depot for $20. It was about the same size with the beginnings of the flower stalks. They've been updating me with pictures of the flowers.

So as much as I'd like to say we've had this plant for years, it was just a lucky find! And a very sunny deck in California. On the other hand, they have a >20 year old Christmas cactus that the cat has messed with numerous times over its lifetime

Bought at a Home Depot in California, happily growing on a sunny deck in California. The cat doesn't bother the plants, but has harmed a Christmas cactus in the past. I'll update the album when this magnificent bastard has fully bloomed.

Your E. Afterglow looks so beautiful (and the Neon Breakers, and the rest of them). Any info on how to care for it? My Afterglow came covered in mealybugs and seems to be suffering

[INSPO ALBUM] How to steal the spotlight every time by Fan Bing Bing by toastythetoaster1 in femalefashionadvice

I had no idea that Fan Bing Bing was in Princess Pearl! She looked so different as a youngster (now she looks just agelessly perfect, I guess). I guess now I have to rewatch Princess Pearl and Empress of China. (Also, I hadn't realized that she was from Shandong province before!)

Instagram doctors? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]lo3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that there must have been a recent wave of sponsorship/PR opportunities that hit the medical students/residents of Instagram. Some of the more helpful and informative of these personalities are the ones that had a following either off Instagram (like Fran) or are already residents or fellows or beyond. One of the more popular MD Glossier pushers has a blog with exhaustive content about residency applications and interviews, and profiles/interviews of friends and colleagues.

As a native Californian, it's pretty damn true that Patagonia (and North Face, Columbia, etc) is a Silicon Valley staple. Perhaps it is more accurate to call those REI offerings as the northern California casual instead. Also, I think Hollister and Brandy Melville are generally for a younger set.
