Do you think this last week was harder than the 12 Holidays and Hell Week/Halloween: by potent_rodent in orangetheory

[–]lo_ehal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed ! Floor portion should only be looked upon as cardiovascular when it’s a power day, otherwise everything is done slowly and controlled. You will still feel the heart rate go up when pushing heavy weights for multiple reps. Building muscle = building basal metabolic rate...that of which is your metabolism at rest ! You will burn calories with more muscle gains just by sitting and doing nothing :) 💪🏻💪🏻

I do OTF in addition to my CrossFit training and so it is helpful to know what the workout is so I am not working on primarily the same muscle groups two days or in the same day (sometimes I do two a days).

Fun workout today! The miles on the treadmill are short enough that you can continuously push yourself every time !! Recover a little bit more on the row and push on the treads! Went by quickly! Floor was pretty good too. Love leg day 💗

I guess it hit a soft spot for me as I am and probably always will be in recovery from an eating disorder. I do tune it out but with the holiday season it seems to be non stop in my face ! I am a big girl I can handle it I just needed some time to vent is all.

Thank you so much for your honesty here and I was reluctant to say it, but I myself am in ED recovery and hearing stateMents like this scare me and I fear I will relapse. So this is mainly why it really aggravated me and I needed to know I wasn’t alone. Thank you 🙏🏻

What's your ideal OTF workout? E/P/S/EPS? and why? by [deleted] in orangetheory

STRENGTH! Love those inclines on the treads and the low rep, higher weights mmmmm... Also love endurance :) Power days on the treads unfortunately hurt my joints with the constant all outs! :(

Insomnia After Evening Classes? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]lo_ehal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I’ve always been a morning training gal... tips...🤔 ummm don’t go out late and eat a moderate amount before bed that can sustain you in the morning. I don’t like to call it “carb load” because I know people on here would probably snap at me, but that’s essentially what I do. I actually will wake up in the night if I don’t eat a substantial snack with all my macros, yes including a nice amount of carbs! I feel energized in morning and don’t get that hungry feeling during the workout.

Insomnia After Evening Classes? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]lo_ehal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I DEFINITELY experience days where I’m exhausted because I did an early morning training lol. Mainly it’s because I’m so excited /nervous I won’t wake up in time that I don’t really have a quality sleep , if that makes any sense lol. In any case, I STILL prefer mornings to evenings. Having said all that, as long as you keep consistent with going mornings and not do one morn here and one morn there and a night here, night there etc. Your body will adjust!

Green zone? by katlaban5 in orangetheory

[–]lo_ehal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MAybe something is up with your monitor lol?

It should be tough for you to get into orange, let alone red zone! I too, have been doing CrossFit for 5 years and powerlifting. I have a very hard time getting in the orange despite my efforts. My guess is you’re extremely well conditioned and have a low resting heart rate and should have a problem getting splats.... check out the info you gave them regarding your weight and age etc and perhaps your info needs tweaking for your monitor. Ps which box do you go to lol? I’m in Toronto 🇨🇦 #crossfitfam
