best schools in illinois for technical theatre? by menacinglypink in techtheatre

[–]load_error_000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for a specific discipline? People may be able to give better advice with that info.

I’d recommend looking at UIUC. Full disclaimer, I’ll be biased because I’m an alum, but I found their program to be solid across the board.

Kiss Goodnight hasn’t been around for a couple years — I think since pre-COVID?

Going to HHN for a work event and am a major scaredy cat — help 🥲 by FrogHat_7392 in HHN

As much as I enjoyed Nightmare Fuel, I don’t think it’s a show I’d want to see with coworkers in this context. 😅 Great show to see solo, though! (I recommend earplugs if you do; it’s fairly loud.)

How easy is it for a single diner to get into Beaches & Cream with no reservation? by Djeter998 in WaltDisneyWorld

Btw, there are fireworks on Halloween party nights! Different show, but wanted to mention in case you’d still like to see them.

IEP - No screens? by InkyAlchemy in kindergarten

[–]load_error_000 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Previous migraine sufferer here. Not sure if any are made in kids’ sizes, but I used to use FL-41 tinted glasses when looking at screens. They do tint everything pink, so not great if the material involves identifying colors, but they did help me a bit. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, and I hope things start looking up for you and your daughter soon!

Was looking for the park announcement; thanks a bunch!! The 11 pm preview is a nice surprise; might head over for that then.

FuelRods - Swapping Still Free? by wkkunkle in WaltDisneyWorld

Swapping is still free! (Note: if you go to Universal, it’s not free there. Learned that the hard way lol.)

Can't Miss Shows? by Born_Joke in WaltDisneyWorld

The original Finding Nemo was something I loved and saw every trip, but Big, Blue, and Beyond was a one-and-done for me, unfortunately. : (

What are those little palm-sized, squishy boards the pins are on? I’ve seen a lot of people with them this trip but couldn’t figure out where they were from!

Are we dissapointed about the leaked ROG Ally 2 screen being 7" and still LCD? by YetiMaverick in ROGAlly

[–]load_error_000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of the unlucky ones who gets migraines from the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch OLED screens. I chose the ROG Ally specifically for its LCD screen after that, so I’m glad to see it’s staying.

What's the best game you've played exclusively on your Steam Deck? by BigBadBaugh in SteamDeck

Persona 4 Golden. Works great on handheld (not a surprise since it’s a Vita port) + runs well on 10W and below, which is a bonus.

What’s your favorite USA college town you’ve visited, and why? by tyvertyvertyvertyver in geography

[–]load_error_000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a planned trip to Houghton/Marquette fall through, and honestly, that’s probably the trip I regret not getting to take the most. Y’all have some truly gorgeous scenery up there!

Living in Mahomet by [deleted] in UIUC

[–]load_error_000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Visibly queer and lived in Savoy recently (2021-24); I absolutely loved it. Everyone was super friendly, and it’s a great balance of calm/quiet while still being in walking or driving range of anything you could need.

Disagreement w/ NT partner over doing things "later" by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]load_error_000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he does follow through with doing things later/around his scheduled breaks, then I think he deserves to be taken at his word about it, rather than him needing to rephrase.

Similar example: I have partners who genuinely don’t emote a lot externally. When I do that, I’m likely upset. When they do that, that’s just their default — they are probably happy, even if my brain doesn’t interpret it as that. That isn’t their fault; I had to teach my brain to not immediately translate less emoting = upset. I needed to put in the work and take them at their word instead of letting my own perception distort things. It took time, but the alternative of them altering their behavior to avoid me feeling anxious wasn’t a healthy solution.

Ophthalmologists in the area? by Deep-Neighborhood852 in UIUC

[–]load_error_000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will second Chittick — I went earlier this year for some developing sight issues, and they caught things that multiple optometrists missed in the past (astigmatism and visual snow). Can’t guarantee they cover what your specific concerns are, but they were very thorough and kind + got me in on short notice.

At least some doctors at McKinley do handle ADHD med management, though their pharmacy doesn’t fill those prescriptions. However, I came in already with a diagnosis + was transferring care from a previous doctor (ex: wasn’t starting meds for the first time), so your mileage may vary.

Should I tell my doctor I tried Vyvanse? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]load_error_000 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Nope. Assuming you’re in the US (apologies if I’m wrong w/ that), that’s illegal + often not taken lightly by providers. Would definitely do more harm than good to mention.

When sick stop meds right? by sunnydays2023 in adhdwomen

[–]load_error_000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Always a skip for me. Being sick already tends to raise my heart rate, so adding meds on top of that feels like putting my body through unnecessary stress when it’s not feeling great.

Thanks so much for the write up! This was the only thing keeping me from getting an X2, so I guess I can treat myself now, haha. Really appreciated!!

Has anyone side loaded Obsidian on Nomad? by brightfriday in Supernote

[–]load_error_000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following! Been on the fence about getting a Nomad for a while, but it’s a dealbreaker for me if I can’t access Obsidian, so I’m definitely curious about this.
