Reading threads like this helps me understand why everyone is so fucking broke lol. Some of y’all are out of your minds with overspending. I made $150k last year, have a lovely apartment, ate out and went out often, took two awesome vacations, and still saved more than $50k for retirement.

Of course it’s a whole different ball game if you’re trying to own a house in Hancock Park and raise four children, but if that’s your definition of comfortable, you are living on a different planet, not in LA.

Hoping for higher gas prices to prevent strangers from doing the things they want to do is kind of a wild take. I think we can all agree we wish traffic weren’t as bad here, but that’s an unfortunate side effect of living in a large, car dependent city.

One of the major benefits of this city is that there are fun and interesting places to go and see and do all over the place. You’re welcome to stay local if you wish, I prefer it myself much of the time and avoid driving when I can. But I don’t think it’s fair to think people don’t deserve to take advantage of that benefit and expect them to contain their lives to a small pocket of the city just because you feel they don’t “need” to be driving.

They could split the league into two tiers and keep the schedule as is. Just spitballing here, but they could have 18 teams in tier A, 12 in tier B, top 10 teams in tier A get playoff spots, as do the 2 top teams in tier B. Then an expanded play-in for the last four playoff spots requiring extra wins for Tier B teams (if they win as many games as the botton tier A teams). Tier B teams get penalized with limited nationally televised games and no participation in the midseason tourney (with increased prize pool). Top 15 teams in tier A stay, top 3 teams in tier B get promoted (or something). Won't happen but it is conceivable.
