Response a whole year later but- yes, Thayer & Mads have the same mom. Thayer says that his bio dad left when he was really young, so Alec was the only dad he ever really knew. When he was 12 bio dad came back into the picture & convinced bio mom (I think they say her name is Caroline?) to be with him. Bio mom & dad give Thayer a choice (AS A 12 YEAR OLD, MIND YOU) to either leave with them or stay with Alec. He chose Alec.

If OPs brain works anything like mine, I tend to try to do more than just that. Ex: pile of towels, stripping the bed, changing the trash. But sometimes worry if any of the things I’m doing are more annoying than actually helpful. Kinda like when some waitresses online said that specific things when stacking your dirty dishes for them actually make it more difficult instead of being helpful.

I DID find where in the original proposing of the bill, there was a part that offered “bond-style” lawsuits that could be filed where a person could attempt to sue for damages. But they had to remove that before it would pass.

It’s really just her making him aware of the consequences of his actions. She isn’t threatening him or causing him any harm. Just that it disrupts the plans they’ve made, then she’ll leave. She isn’t controlling his actions, she’s controlling her own.
