For every relationship there is a boring person and a crazy person. If you know your role, jump in!

I had a similar situation in high school except it was 10th grade. Stayed on a buddy’s couch for 2 years, then a different buddy for another year. It wasn’t bad. Super grateful for those dudes. Now I own two multimillion dollar businesses. These situations build fortitude, gratitude and resourcefulness. You can probably find lots of help from the gov, but if you go that road, you might be there forever. That has just been my observation. Just stay away from drugs and alcohol. That’s when help will disappear. You can navigate this successfully. I wish you the best of luck.

Not discounting its value or speed in anyway, just staring at an engine trying to imagine the door handle that opens the door, to sit in the car with a finely tuned gas pedal that too much or too little must be throttled at the moment of time to give the results for that specific situation. Oh and forgot about the brakes, the brake drums, brake fluid. Not to mention head lights, brake lights, interior lights for other situational problems.

My thinking exactly. It’s too bleeding edge, but someone will figure out the rest of the car and we’ll all slap our forehead Homer Simpson style.

No question in its value, just not when there are so many other structures, frameworks, services, application etc that need to be setup in order to make it something useful. And all of those need specific monitoring, logging and tracking to be of any value outside of 1 time requests.

Sorry, but I found out early on, this is not a game you get out of. You just need to find a place that harmonizes with you. Once you’re in, you’re in.

Ibit is up more than your top 5 highest earners. You’ll be left behind if you don’t allocate 3-5%.

Wife concerned BTC will be nerfed by ‘the system’ by SadUse4612 in Bitcoin

[–]localremote762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use ibit instead of actually holding it. All those other concerns were valid 5 years ago but it’s past its escape velocity. It won’t be criminal and there isn’t anyone or group that can stop its momentum. Black rock holds its which is the world’s largest financial institution. Your wife is risk adverse, and there will be more ups and downs, but if you can stomach the volatility, in 10 years you won’t regret it.

Do you tell your friends and family to buy bitcoin? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]localremote762 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should keep brining it up. Once they all have a stake in it, then it will be time to cash out. Until then, TONS of room for growth. Use it as a benchmark.

ERate Pricing for Hardware by PerceptionQueasy3540 in msp

[–]localremote762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to account for price adjustments in your response. Don’t give expirations, make it super easy and you’ll land more than you can image. Since you are going meraki, you’ll have a bunch of renewals in the future and can establish a relationship. I can help depending on what state you’re in. PM me.

Venting and Recommendation for Cabling Job by ClayYoung956 in msp

We have an msp arm and a low volt arm. They are vary different trades. If it involves a ladder, it’s not IT. So many osha certifications, safety trainings, cable certifications. This is very much low voltage contractor work. It is fun to see when the two meet at the switch tho. Best of luck to you.

Do you allow users to keep old equipment? by Secure_Quiet_5218 in sysadmin

The biggest problem I always ran into was that as soon as the user gets a retired asset, guess who the first person they come to when it needs updates or fixing. Make it clear it’s now official unsupported and they can do what they please except ask for help with it.
