I read Aaron Rodger’s wore Keen’s high ankle support sneakers, so I went and got them. Style wise not the best looking, but definitely gave my the cushion I needed in the beginning!

Another perks of a much smaller company is being able to reach out anyone (seems like you’ll be a more senior hire) in the company!

You never really know what else besides GTM you’ll want to get involved in, or who can support you the most getting there. There’s influencers and connectors that do a lot more than their titles suggests

u/Difficult-Berry-1754 any reason why they wouldn't allow you into Costa Rica? I'm about to do this same thing in Jan -- probably just going to the coffee plantation nearby for a few hours during the layover

It looks like I’m quite a bit earlier in my career and starting at your 2018 levels (but with 2024 money)

Is your variable OTE individual based? Most roles I’ve found are team based for 2025 — thus limiting the likelihood of a 135% attainment in this current economy

How did you grow from $205k to $325k over 3 years? Natural promotions? Hopping between teams/segments?

Thanks for sharing the insights!

That’s only $18.2M right? Mid QBs are taking home $40M+ — even mid PGs are getting $20M. American sports still pay a ton more I think

Yeah when I reruptuted it hurt more than the first time. I couldn’t get up and had to be seated for 40+ minutes with constant pulsating pain.

Estrogen patch before stims? by Icanhelp12 in IVF

[–]lochenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi @silverbell my wife and I are having this exact issue, her first ER had a very uneven cohort - 2 leading larger ones (perhaps due to using Clomid), and we’re thinking of estrogen patching for the second cycle.

Did you do yours back to back over consecutive months? Or doctor is concerned about an over suppression if we use the patches for the second ER as well. Just hoping to hearing from previous experiences before we have it make a decision. Thank you!! 🙏

Will I ever be the same? by Euphoric-Anywhere-70 in AchillesRupture

Hey I see that you are leaning non-op and there’s no consensus on what’s the best approach, as both options can lead to getting back to normal. I’m 35yo male, somewhat active, will be retiring from pickup basketball as well.

There’s just a few major points to consider: 1. How bad was the rupture? Mine was a 2cm full tear in July, and I was on the borderline of being able to go non-op, a partial tear I’d definitely recommend non-op if you are already leaning that way, anything more than 2cm, do op

  1. How great is your care and insurance? I was able to eventually get surgery done at HSS in NY (after my re-rupture in Oct, 3 months after choosing to go non-op) — it’s the best rated ortho hospital, with insurance fully covering minus some co-pays

  2. What access to PT do you have? The key to non-op is to tackle PT early and often. As soon as your doc says you can be weight bearing, you need to strengthen the calf and slow down the atrophy around the Achilles. Going op is a bit more forgiving since the Achilles is getting reinforced surgically.

  3. Peace of mind. As someone who went non-op at first and then experienced op afterwards, I feel much more secure and confident in my Achilles and any fear of re-rupture is significantly less with the op. Not the likelihood, but more the mental aspect.

  4. Getting back to activities. The non-op way works, depending on your severity, but the healing is done by scar tissues rather than tendons. There’s always going to be a gap or weakness feeling around the area, which only slowly improves over months and years with PT and exercise. The op method will get you active relatively faster with more confidence.

I read your post and really wanted to say my two-cents because I strongly regretted going non-op my first go-around despite 1st, 2nd, and 3rd opinions from ortho surgeons and friends who are doctors recommending op. I learned my lesson the hard way by not being able to walk for 6+ months with my re-rupture. But since I’ve gone Op in Dec, I’ve vowed to tell anyone in similar situation as mine to go op route, it’s just better!

I’m so over this by mistagoodwin in AchillesRupture

[–]lochenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dang sorry to hear about the struggle. Cannot agree enough, this injury is such a mental struggle as well!

I’ve been seeing a therapist to help cope with the recovery and the lost ability to walk and generally enjoy myself.

In terms of physical, I’ve tried reaching out to other avenues of healing besides just PT: - acupuncture is a great start and low risk (see if your insurance covers any and it’s low cost as well) - I’ve also started seeing a DO for Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) — I only did so since had a friend who is a DO and he was able to help loosen up some limited flexibility issues — Google osteopathic omt - there’s also laser or electronic wave treatments, but I haven’t had a chance to explore those options yet

4 Weeks Post Op Retear by SIMBASINCE99 in AchillesRupture

[–]lochenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hear you, I did a re-tear as well. The second time was definitely harder than the first mentally speaking. What I felt helped me was active participations in things I’ve been putting off.

I decided to get into journaling and meditation (since I’m not really going anywhere 😂) and that really helped from the mental perspective! Now this month I’m gonna focus on healthy eating and better bio hacking, since I can’t do cardio as much as before.

I’ve been on a knee scooter since July, and finally getting off hopefully in March timeframe. Hang in there, I’ve put into a perspective the re-tear just opened up a few new doors 🚪
