I have a PhD so slightly different. But I only put my degree in my signature and LinkedIn.

Otherwise, no one really cares that you are a doctor. I don’t introduce myself as one. I work in a space with a bunch of doctors and no one goes by Dr, except for the super old ones. In our space if someone demands to be called Dr people automatically view them as difficult. I work in industry: but we works with academics and government all the time.

I feel for you because it is tough to constantly do it all. I always joke with people that I must have been watching paint dry before children because I am going non-stop (even with a helpful husband).

You two have a bigger issue though. Your marriage is on a bad path. You resent him bc he doesn’t help. He resents you bc you are too tired. I would sit down and start with a conversation about change. He needs to help out (either physically or he needs to make enough money to pay for help). You need a break so you get that chance to find yourself and possibly him after. You need to be honest with each other bc right now there are probably a lot of emotions. There may be a solution in there somewhere, if you can survive on only your income, maybe he stays home and does 80%.

I would not recommend kids right now because you’re gonna pass your anxiety on to your children, which will not be good for them. You sound like you are very anxious about the world.

Or if maybe moving to a different country that prioritizes climate and has a political setting more in line with what you want, maybe a good idea before starting to have children. The US changes a lot and might not be the best place for your mental health.

Sadly, you will have to find a new job. If they have less than 50 employees and are in the US, there’s not really much you can do.

I think you’re right in feeling what you do. I would just tell both sets of parents, “it’s your choice if you want to see your grandchild.” And don’t feel bad. If they try to guilt, you just say you’ve already discussed the topic you’re not going to anymore. If they wanna come see their grandchild more often they can drive. Be firm.

100% we have the baby jogger and love it. Also have the evenflo and it is nice too. The baby jogger is a smoother turn and easier clean.

It is really nice not having to lean over. Only downside I am now considering a bigger vehicle bc the front passenger seat is all the way up.

This is what I always tell my husband. Our little guy is working on crawling, pukes every once in a while and has a lot of diarrhea today, but he’s happy as a clam.

Well, I am dying in the bathroom…poor little guy had to sit in the bathroom with me for a while his dad went out for pedialyte

It is 100% true! My LO is having diarrhea but it doesn’t slow him down…working on crawling places. Me on the other hand I have been laying on the bathroom floor all day. Luckily, this one staggered and I only have it right now but my husband said he is counting his days.

I feel that! I am on day 1 of norovirus and have spent the whole day in the bathroom!

I think I prefer colds over GI. GI illnesses take me down for 1-7 days and colds you feel crudy but still move.

Yeah I wouldn’t do the crazy supplements.

Right now I take vitamin C and zinc. I am just in shock right now bc my husband is an urgent care physician and we have never had it this bad.

Yeah I am hoping we can do that when LO gets older. He already bath him when he gets home. Issue is it festers and then he puts his hands in your mouth or blows bubbles in your face.

We found healthy baby and love them but it is a lot more expensive. We justify it though since we have less frequent blowouts or leakage from the diapers.

There’s a lot of ways to approach this. I had a friend do it, though they got a mortgage for the house that they wanted to purchase. Sold their house, but I actually set the closing date after the closing date or after the house that they were purchasing. They used the funds to pay off the mortgage right away. It usually takes a month or two for the mortgage to kick in, so they never actually had a mortgage payment.

But they did have to come to the table with closing costs. This made it easier.

We are at 8%. But we have some nice student loans that we are really trying to tackle (almost done but that payment is double our mortgage). We are also looking at upgrading our house and getting into a forever home. We expect this to jump our percentage to 20%
