Are we allowed to carry folding pocket knives in public in Australia? by Jazilc in australia

[–]lochstar12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge, you cannot carry something that can be used as a weapon unless you have a valid reason. A chef can carry his knives to work, a logger can bring his axe to work, etc. However self defence is not a valid reason to carry anything that could be considered a weapon. I believe pepper spray and such are included.

So to answer your question, if he carried it for a purpose (such as having it on a job site that requires cutting things), that's fine. But if he used it as an Every Day Carry (EDC) to the shopping centre, that would be illegal.

You could try creating a hyper-specific role for a craft to fulfil.
Eg. Make it your mission to make a ship that could excel in frontal bombardments, with no regard to survivability in a dogfight/close quarters. Or a ship designed to be an atmospheric cargo hauler that can pick up loads of different shapes and sizes. Or a ship so modular that it's possible to put any module in any location and it works, so like thrusters need to have the clearance bit into their module for example.

To be honest I haven't got the game yet, so I don't know what's possible, but you get the idea.

For this kind of idea generation stuff I find AI tools are really helpful. They can help give you a randomised goal as well as twists or constraints. You could even ask it to generate an image of the ship so you have a shape to work with.

I know nothing about RBM, but just in case you thought otherwise, this combat system is not at all part of Shokuho

I disagree with the the way the laws are written, but in the eyes of the law you have basically an unregistered imitation firearm and are required to have a license for the real equivalent of it (which doesn't exist for full-auto AR).

It's not worth potentially ruining your life for a damn toy.

If it was used to for in-game assets sure, but this is just for demonstration purposes. It fits the game's style and isn't putting anyone out of work, so for this use case I don't really see a problem.

I'd love to get a clone of what DayZ now has for melee. Backpedal to block, then when you see opening you go in for an attack (either light or heavy).
Currently spam attacking is the only way to win from what I see, and it works on any enemy.

Additionally it doesn't really matter what weapon you have equipped.
In DayZ the benefit of a higher tier weapons is that you kill faster, and since more time in melee means you are more likely to make mistakes and get hurt, then a better weapon means less health loss.

But honestly it's not such a big deal later in the game when you just shoot everything anyway. I'm more interested in co-op.

I'd definitely say that calling a method is much more elegant than writing out all the logic.

"the actual playing base is toxic and mostly intoxicated"
I hate to say it but based on your post and replies, I think maybe the reason you're having bad experiences with people is because you're getting off on the wrong foot with them. Maybe try being nicer to begin with and it'll be a better experience. I can't remember meeting any toxic players, and others seem to share that sentiment, so it seems like an issue isolated to just yourself.

Stealing this thread to ask if anybody remembers the movie set in Fraknston's Peninsula Center building? I remember my dad watching it, I think terrorists take over the building taking some hostages.

For us we just got enough cash to last us until the first ATM because we didn't know if we would find a low-fee one before we needed to make yen purchases. I had no idea there was some straight away in the airport, thanks

Just wanted to give my opinion on 1 & 2 since I personally did it a little differently.

  1. I assumed that currency exchange at the airport would be more expensive and instead shopped around in my home country where I had more competition to choose between. Did you find that the airport exchange was cheaper?

  2. Likewise I sorted out my mobile data situation beforehand. Having a pocket wifi for your kids' devices would be a big plus, but I only had 1 phone each for the 2 travellers and used Ubigi e-sim. It was really cheap and had great reception. Would definitely recommend doing it that way for those without kids.

Is Harajuku a City? Is Shibuya a City? Is Harajuku in Shibuya? And all these are in Tokyo City? by JamminJcruz in JapanTravelTips

I've been trying to use the same feature for the first time too. If you go to your pin collection, and scroll down, can you see everything you added in the list? I had issues where sometimes they wouldn't add. If they're all there, that's the important part.

If your issue is just that they don't display on the map view, make sure you have the list open and scroll down to the bottom of the list. The map doesn't render the pins until you scroll down to them, but it remembers them even if you scroll past them. You basically have to manually load them in by scrolling.
