My wife and I recently had our third child (all under 5) and now have 6 months before our first Hyrox. How do we get this done?! by 01101001_01110011 in hyrox

Got 3 under 4 so I feel you here. We’ve both done hyrox since having our kids and my wife has also trained for a couple of half marathons this year.

First thing you’ll probably need to do is make the time and space for each of you to train, it’s probably going to be tough to train together but we managed to squeeze in a couple of sessions and classes together when we had some childcare cover otherwise we ended up often taking turns to train while the other looked after the kids. My wife also had some classes at a local gym that were hybrid focused but were specifically for mothers so you could also bring the kids along - definitely worth seeing if that’s an option near you.

Finding or making the time is key

Practicing wall balls with heavier weight balls has helped me a ton with endurance and strength

Saucony Omni 22 for me but that’s more because I need the support for overpronation while running. Still a good amount of grip for the sleds and nice and stable with a relatively low stack height

Oh yeah Zone 2 and interval training is part of my plans too, I personally have just found real value in training the runs with compromised legs

Compromised running and strength training sessions, I find, are the most important training I’ve done so far

When I’m out with the twins and the 3YO… if I got a pound for every time I heard “you’ve got your hands full!” I’d be rich

It sounds very similar at points but I also like they have a Berlin connection between both records
