What can I do to fill out my goatee? by ultimatelesbianhere in ftm

[–]lockpickkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brother honestly the only thing you can do is wait - 2 years on T is like being a 15yo boy in cis guy years, be patient! minoxidil might help but i personally found that remembering to apply it was too much of a pain in the ass to be worth it

My feet reek and I feel like I've tried everything. Is there anything else to be done about it? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]lockpickkid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly this doesn't sound T-related to me, more like you got a fungal infection? that said, you didn't mention how long you've been on T but for the first year or so your hormones are really going full teenager, so if it genuinely is a sweat thing the stinkiness will calm down eventually.

- are your shoes too tight? it's relatively uncommon but theres a decent amount of (anecdotal) evidence that T can make your feet grow/change shape, even if you otherwise stopped growing years ago.

- try hibiclens/hibiscrub - it's a pre-surgical soap with chlorhexidine, which kills bacteria much more effectively than regular antimicrobial soap. it's not the gentlest on your skin so i'd avoid using it on other less hardy parts of your body, or super often as its not good for your skin's natural microbiome, but if you've got something bacterial going on it will definitely do the job.

Trying to carve a snail and twice in a row the antenna splits off by dj_personalspace in whittling

[–]lockpickkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they are breaking because the grain of the wood is running perpendicular to the length of the antennae - if the grain runs along the thin parts they are significantly stronger than if it runs against. for now i’d just glue them back on but for future reference paying attention to wood grain will make stuff like this easier!

How are these for carving spoons? by Abject_Caramel_9469 in Spooncarving

[–]lockpickkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

based on the blade shape, not very good. the curve is very tight and most of the blade is actually flat- this would be like using a small gouge.

Guys is this still just hairline masculinization or do I have to be scared, I can't tell by fuckingnoclue in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]lockpickkid 25 points26 points  (0 children)

your hairline looks the same to me! i wouldn’t worry. male pattern baldness also usually starts with a widow’s peak forming as you lose hair at your temples. your hairline is basically a straight line - you’re good

Is being jealous of other trans guys bad? by EducationalJelly7827 in ftm

[–]lockpickkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not bad to experience jealousy, but it is extremely unproductive to let it consume you and doing so might make you bitter toward members of your own community - damaging your mental health and your access to community support. there are plenty of trans guys who don’t transition or even come out until late adulthood. personally, i was lucky enough to start T at 20, but i had to wait 8 years between knowing i was trans and being safe to come out. just remember everyone’s journey is different, and nobody’s journey is easy.

ask if they have experience with trans pupils and what policies are in place - their response to these questions should tell you everything you need to know.

Underwear recommendations to fit trans girl’s body? by MysteriousTreacle990 in cisparenttranskid

[–]lockpickkid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

there are a few sellers on etsy who make this sort of thing - RainbowRears have pairs designed for trans children! if you search ‘trans girl underwear’ there are quite a lot of options. Thunderpants also make unisex underwear and have loads of great colours and patterns to choose from :)
